I did look and indeed Billy Vera posted on Facebook about the death. And they appeared to be friends. But I wouldn’t take that as gospel either.

How strange. No confirmation on the official Manhattan Transfer website, no confirmation on Tim Houser’s Facebook page, and the most recent news article I could find on him was something posted from four hours ago announcing Houser and the rest of the group performing in an upcoming show. Plus, the Wikipedia page has be changed to take out the “death” date. Yet, no change or correction from Billy Vera’s Facebook page, and he seems like someone who would know the inside scoop. I’m beginning to lean toward it being a hoax.
Meanwhile, pending official identification, it looks like Misty Upham’s body finally turned up.
