Coincidentally, I’m sure, former Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee has died.
Well, bugger. :mad::p:smack:
And Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
Wilko Johnson says he is “cancer free”
I just attended the funeral of my aunt, who had cancer. For Mr. Johnson’s sake I hope his news is true. Cancer sucks big time.
Baker, you’ve had a rough year. My sincere condolences.
It appears that a list of cancer victims was not a good way to pick my list.
Oh, the shame!
Yep.
I lost my 12-year-old nephew to a sudden onset brain tumor last December.
And my father now has both colon cancer and liver cancer, and the cancer is likely to be the secondary tumor, which has a survival rate of essentially 0% when it’s the secondary one.
my grandmother, my sister, and my mother all died from cancer.
Jack Bruce, bassist and singer for Cream has died at 71.
gone down the plughole ?
Marcia Strassman has died at the age of 66 after a long battle with breast cancer, her sister Julie Strassman confirmed.
Well, of course she did. I took her off my list this year. :smack:
Extra spatial dimensions are not of much value if we cannot observe them somehow, or make use of them for practical or investigative purposes.
I recall reading an interesting article on sphere packing, in which they noted that face-centered-cubic seems to be the most efficient scheme in 3 dimensions (least amount of intervening space), but once you get to around 15~18 dimensions, huge gaps form between the spheres in that scheme.
A “dimension” is an abstraction, a way to measure, typically continuous, progressive and boundless, but not always. There are no “higher dimensions” in the sense of physical location, but there may well be characteristics to the universe that could be dimensionalized in useful ways.
Oscar Taveras, rookie St. Louis Cardinals outfield, killed in a car wreck at age 22.
Are you in the wrong thread, eschereal?
Yeah, oops
Been a while since I posted the standings, so with the death of Marcia Strassman(four players had her) here’s the rankings.

I thought the COD might have been her World Famous Tuna Fish Casserole.
RIP Mrs Kotter
And I just lost my virginity to her.
yeah, she’d been a list standard of mine for years - until this year.
possibly too soon.
