Damn, she could write.
Damn! I picked her but swapped her out for George Kennedy. Damn!!!
I am really surprised that nobody had Harper Lee in this game. Another DP I run had one player picking her, and an English board I play on had three people with Lee.
I had read that mentally, Lee was in “La-La land”, but I figured she’d escape the Grim Reaper’s grasp by a year or two. Meanwhile, Zsa Zsa keeps rolling along.Go figure.
Harper Lee and Umberto Eco on the same day
Umberto Eco died?
Two of my favorites on the same day. Today sucks.
2016 is being a hard year in general for people I admire. It’s a function of age I suppose.
You should speak with your Minister or Physician. :dubious:
Tony Phillips, Whose Play Sealed 1989 World Series, Dies at 56.
Bah. They both fit my theme, yet I didn’t pick either one.
I think next year I’m going to change my theme to former major league baseball players. One of the only people I’ve gotten points for in this game was a baseball player, Gary Carter.
Nathan Barksdale, drug kingpin and inspiration for characters on the wire.
Yeah, but it is happening this year. :dubious:
Here’s my list, the 13 oldest baseball Hall of Famers:
Bobby Doerr is the last living person who played in the major leagues in the 1930s.
Crazy isn’t it? The early 1940s are barely represented at all. Only one guy who debuted in 1940 is still alive, only three who debuted in 1941 are still kicking and only four who debuted in 1942 are still with us. In fact, only 72 players who played in the 1940s at all are still alive.
You are too late for this game. The cutoff was last New Year’s Eve. The 2017 game starts on December 1st.
