Celebrity Death Pool 2016

Say what?? :dubious:

Don’t worry about Rufus.

Everyone loves a good “Bull Durham” reference…

Time for me to watch that again.

Crash: “Well, I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman’s back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.”

Annie: “Oh, my!”

My third number should be a 1, for Glenn Frey. I don’t mean to be a nitpicker but I’ve always wanted a unique pick…let me live my tiny dreams to their fullest!

FYI: There’s also a “Submit your entries by midnight December 31, 2015” rule.

Ray Tomlinson, inventor of email, gets deleted:

Brian
(likes that better than “in the spam folder”)

And the “clean list” rule.

I prefer to think that he’s merely been archived.

I’m curious why you are pushing this so hard, Idle Thoughts. Especially since it seems like the rest of us don’t agree, or at least don’t see any need for change. What is it that makes you so inflexible?

I’d like to stick up for Idle Thoughts. Well, not really. I’d really like to stick up for who gives a shit? This is the SDMB Death Pool not the Olympic Games ferchrissakes.

Who cares if the ties are displayed one way or another. You don’t get prize money based on placement, you know. People need to unclench. If the way in which ties are displayed in a game that doesn’t mean anything causes you so much consternation, I’d suggest not playing at all; you’re wrapped way too tight.

Y’know, given that right now I have a whopping 6 points – and that’s the highest score I’ve achieved in a number of years – I can’t say there’s really much difference between “tied for 76th,” “tied for 23rd” or “better than zero.”

I figure the person who’s running the thread gets to make up the rules they want. If you don’t like those rules, you can start your own thread.

I don’t there is anything to stop someone from reposting the standings in any format they wish.

Gov. Larry Hogan’s sister died. Near miss for me.

“The rest of us” is a bit hyperbolic. A few people are disagreeing. I’m firmly in the “I don’t care” camp. I have no problem figuring out what it means either way.

Completely torn here: On the one hand my head tells me that if 3 people have more points than I do, I am in 4th place and not second. BUT on the other hand, I was once told that I was the 2nd best looking guy at Citi Field. Unfortunately, she continued on… " that everyone else was tied for first" :smack:
