In the “bad year to not pick wrestlers” department:
Aretha Franklin is circling the drain.
Again.
I thought she died two years ago when I wimped out an didn’t list her because of “Mack the Knife”. :dubious:
No, that was Ella Fitzgerald.
dammit!
I ain’t no psychiatrist, I ain’t no doctor with degrees
It don’t take too much high IQ’s
To see that points are, twenty three
If she can hold on until next year.
.
Bummer.
Been a fan of hers since I was 12 or 13, I guess, whenever it was that she first started getting on the top-40 charts. My wife and I saw her perform once, at Wolf Trap maybe 15 years ago. With that voice of hers, she could have sung the phone book, and everyone would have gone away happy.
Damn he was on my long list but didn’t make the cut. In the mean time my sure things are doing fine.
Ella Fitzgerald died 22 years ago.
Doesn’t do me any good.
Another al-Baghdadi rumor, this one saying he’s brain-dead after an air strike.
Even if it’s true [insert more than the usual skepticism here, especially going through this already last year], brain-dead doesn’t suffice for points. The rest of him has to be dead too.
Interesting dead members of the Blues Brothers cast discussion going on in Cafe Society
It’s a conspiracy! How else do you explain how so many are dead from a 38 year old movie?
Then it must have been more than 22 years ago when she forgot the lyrics to Mack the Knife.
:dubious:
Lorrie Collins, rockabilly child prodigy dead at 76.
Patricia Benoit, of Mister Peepers fame dead at 91.
Is Aretha still hanging in there? I ask not because she’s on my list, but because I had my MP3’s on shuffle while working this afternoon and (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman came on at 2:20. I noted the time, just in case I was trapped in some sort of temporal mortal coil shuffling.
She’s apparently still singing.
Or maybe just humming.
Or tapping her foot…
… to I Will Survive, perhaps?
(Too soon?)
Etta James, perhaps? She died 6 years ago, which is 2 years in distracted adult time.
Actress and singer Morgana King, who played Marlon Brando’s wife in “The Godfather,” sleeps with the fishes for 13 points.
