Mrs Dr Seuss died at 97.

Reformist Saudi prince Talal bin Abdulaziz dies aged 87

Rule 3(d): you cannot reap more than 82 points on one pick.

Which might raise an interesting question. Can you pick a 17y/o, in hopes that they make it to 18 before they cash in? Too early and you get no points?

Well rule #2 says that all picks must be made by Dec. 31, and rule #3 says that valid picks cannot be under age 18, so I would interpret that to mean that all picks must be 18 or over on Dec. 31 (of the year before the contest). A pick of someone under 18 would be invalid when picked, and not eligible to be played.

Ellsworth Wareham, open heart surgeon and rumored oldest vegan of note.

A Legacy of Words: Saskatoon Writer Jordon Cooper dies of Cancer

I’m not real happy about this.

Here I am, with a new year coming, trolling the internet looking for people likely to die next year. And I’ve got my list together. But I’m unhappy about it.

Fnishing in the top 5 is nice, but a year ago, I didn’t know who Jordon Cooper was. Stefan Karl Stefansson was nobody to me; Devin Liam, Liam Miller, Leah Bracknell: didn’t know any of them. I didn’t care.

John McCain? Old, cancerous, served. I respect him.

But, by the end of the year, he’d be gone, like my father.

I don’t feel guilty putting him on a death pool list, but I feel bad trolling the internets looking for younger people who are so sick that their misfortune might help me win a stupid contest. It strikes me as perverse.

Like those Ive added to my list for 2019, most of my candidates I hadn’t heard of until the last week of December, 2017. Of my new additions, I may have heard of one or two.

Just some thoughts. I think I’m owed 44 points. Good luck in 2019. I’m going for First. But this game sucks the soul from you. Peace.

The flu really can kill. Conservative news personality and writer Bre Payton has died.

Yep. And she was only 26

While not qualifying for “Final Hours Award” with a March 2018 death, Jordon Cooper is good for a Unique Pick, 56 Points, and 4th Place for Candide:
