Cell phone question

Can anyone remember a nokia phone that T-mobile states carried , that flipped open to reveal a keyboard. To be honest , I am not sure if it was slider or a clamshell candy bar.

Just to mention, a quick check of the TMobile site showed only 5 Nokia phones. An older-looking phone that is plain, two clamshell but no keyboard, and a mp3 player phone but still no keyboard.

Nokiausa.com shows several Qwerty keyboard phones, the E90, E62, E61, and E61i, but none are listed with a plan, just as for sale by Nokia, except the E90 Communicator. Unfortunately it says “In Stores Only”

I hope you find the phone you are looking for.

With so many devices from so many manufacturers and so many carriers, you might need a bit more detail to get the right answer. Off the top of my head Nokia made an oddball flip qwerty (the 6800) for TMobile that had half the keyboard on each side of the display, I think. TMobile has also carried the Sidekick series, as well as phones from HTC which makes a popular sliding qwerty line.

Here’s a short listing of some Nokia phones (but not nec TMobile although many of them are GSM phones) Nokia Phone Reviews - MobileTechReview ; don’t know if it will help.

I think of bar and clamshell as two different form factors, fwiw. Some of the newer clamshells have dual hinges to open both ways depending on whether you want a landscape for typing or a vertical clamshell for phoning.

When I was working for T-Mobile, I beta tested the Nokia 9300 and Nokia 9500 Communicator. Also they had a 9290 Communicator (I think it was 9290) and it was set up the same way.

Apparently they don’t call them Communicators anymore.

Here is the obligatory wiki on them: Nokia Communicator - Wikipedia

Thanks for the replys folks , I believe the winner is the 9290 which would put it at the right age for the device , early 200x when I seen it being reviewed on tech tv.
