What's a good basic cell phone?

I have one of those oldish Nokias that used to be so tiny. It’s actually being held together with tape right now (seriously) so I’m looking for a new one. I don’t need anything with a camera or any special features, just a good inexpensive one. Good voice quality is important, it should also be nice and slim. What’s your cell and are you happy with it?

I have a Motorola C332 and love it. The reception is great. And LOOK! It’s so cute! And small. It is easy to use. I only paid 49 dollars for it. A good, inexpensive phone.

Other than your phone being used for a while the Nokia name has stood up well for you. I personally have a Nokia 6800 and 6610. The 6610 is one of the smaller non-flip style phones. It has a color screen and in my experience Nokias’ have some of the best battery life and reception. Nokia has done you well so you may want to look at that brand again. If you want a flip any of the newer Motorolas are great, but I do feel you sacrifice some battery time with the Motorolas, that is just my observation. I would stray away from Samsung phones. They have really cool ones but battery life is definately sub-par. The best thing would be to go to an indipendent dealer and take a look at what they have to offer with all the carriers. You can now take your number with you due to WLNP but only in certain markets. With signing a new contract,(most are just one year) your new phone will be discounted if not free so shop around and see what fits you best.

Hope this helps…
