This topic seems very personal to you–have you been shunned or warned off a playground or something? There are too many helicopter parents out there, certain that there is Stranger Danger around every corner, and yes, those people do tend to ratchet up the intensity of the topic, but their hysteria is founded in fact. I am not following you here. You are indeed conflating posts, but you are also conflating topics. I doubt you’ll find anyone here who (in all seriousness) will defend the premise that women of legal age can NOT make decisions for themselves (barring retardation issue and mental illness, of course). Howling and demanding silence is not what is going on here. Certain topics should remain at the academic level: should we have an “ask the serial killer” or “ask the puppy torturer” or “ask the slave trafficker” threads as well?
