Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

Yes, it was Fargo. Jerry Lundegaard actually uses that phrase several times throughout the movie, which I didn’t notice until I rewatched it last weekend.

This one is dear to my heart, as I use it IRL, changing cops to nurses. But, some more from the same movie…

‘Nuns…no sense of humor.’

‘Heh, heh, what kept you?’

‘Whatever you say, Jack, you’re the master race.’

It might be interesting to do a challenge for quotes that only exist in deleted scenes/DVD extras/less well known edits.

Let’s see how long this one takes.

“The butterfly. Follow the butterfly!”

Just a guess, but Papillon.

This one might be pretty easy, but:

“I can’t believe what a bunch of nerds we are, looking up ‘money laundering’ in a dictionary.”

Office Space

Correct.

Maybe, but not what I had in mind.

Encanto ?

“Ah, yes. UPSTART!”

Correct.

Since I didn’t get any takers on this, here’s another quote from the same film-

“Your quality will be known among your enemies, before ever you meet them.”

Duck Soup

That’s it!

I’m just going to keep posting lines from the movie until someone gets it or I publish the entire script:

“Which one of these chicks is for me?”
“Actually I think they’re all lesbians.”
“Lesbians?!? You guys are cool.”

Up in Smoke, maybe?

Nope. Later film than that. *It’s not exactly a blockbuster, but it’s funny as hell.

I have no idea but I bet it’s a period piece. But this line:

Made me think of this quote (exchange):

"Don’t fall for it, Jack.
Fall for what?
For the lie we keep telling ourselves. We only do the dirty stuff to get the power. It will will give us the freedom to all the good things we really want. But when you get the power, you can’t goddamn remember what you wanted the freedom for in the first place.”

From a very, very funny (and underappreciated) movie.

Let’s see if anyone gets this one:

“Great. I’m never goona make it to that appointment now!”
