Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

Sir Lawrence Olivier as Marcus Licinius Crassus to Tony Curtis as Antoninus in one of the excised then later restored scenes in Spartacus (1960)

Actually, they lost the audio from that scene, and Olivier had died, so t’s really Anthony Hopkins doing a pitch-perfect imitation of Olivier. But Curtis reprised himself.

I remember when I saw the restored version. A lot of things were clearer.

“REfund?! REfund?!”

Breaking Away

Yeppers.

“No, Mayor Daley no longer dines here. He’s dead, sir.”

The Blues Brothers

got it.

“It’s got a few years, but it’s a cream puff.”

Scarface. Just watched this bit the other day.

“They’ve fists like mature hams for pounding poor defenseless lads like you.”

That’s it! I posted that quote previously in 2022, nut nobody guessed it.

“I think we can take Olaf.”

“You ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?”

The French Connection

“Fourth door to the left of that statue of Boris the Bewildered on the fifth floor. Password’s ‘pine fresh’. Gotta go… want to say good night”

Wrong!

Really? I coulda sworn. Curiosity piqued now.

Hmmm is this one where the original line is slightly different and then it gets misquoted in a later film? A bit like ‘Play it again, Sam’?

You got it. Popeye never says the quoted line exactly in the original film. Here’s the sequence.

He does say it in The French Connection II.

‘There’s always time for lubricant’
