Changes in Thread Titles

Specifically, I’m referring to this thread.

Quite correctly, Twickster later changed the title and merged the thread with another. The new title more accurately describes the thread content.

However, before the title changed I had posted (#9) that Hal Briston had made a similar thread back in 2004. That is, a thread with a similar title. (The original thread title here was “What Is That?”

Now that the title of the thread has been changed, my post makes no sense whatsoever. I have learned to live with other folks not understanding what I am posting about- I’m pretty certain I do well enough without assistance :smiley:

I have no idea how it would be possible to cater for something like this as it is so rare. If, on request could the edit window be reopened for 5 minutes to include a short comment so the post doesn’t look totally asinine? Probably the easiest answer is to forget about it and let it sink.

The answer is a pineapple.

I’d say ask twicks or one of the other MPSIMS mods to change your post for you. I’ve made similar requests in the past and the mods have been more than accomodating.

Yes, sometimes threat title changes make prior posts a li’l incomprehensible. Or a LOT incomprehensible. Mods are certainly willing to amend such posts (easiest is usually to add a Mod footnote explaining the prior thread title.)

Sorry, Cicero, I’ve added a note to your post.

I posted a remark in the thread that I had renamed the merged thread, and indicated what the old title was, but since that post was downthread from yours it wasn’t necessarily useful information for those trying to discern your meaning. Or lack thereof.
