I don’t get it. A couple of people came in here and called El Presidente a piece of shit for an opinion that he didn’t even express. Then , everybody decided to pile on him, rather than the idiots who called him out. I can totally understand why he’d get upset, even if he did go a little overboard.
ETA: It occurs to me that some of the vitriol may be carried over from other exchanges. If I’m casting my lot in with someone who has some sort of bad reputation on the boards, I’m doing so out of ignorance.
His opinion, as I understood it, was that everyone should cut Smith a little slack, because “hey, who hasn’t ruined the lives of a few grieving parents?”
Yikes. I’d want to kill him, if I were one of those parents.
Even if a doctor is highly competent and completely honest, there’s something wrong with one expert’s testimony carrying so much weight that the defense doesn’t even have their own expert review the evidence.
No it’s easy if you know about John R. Brinkley. He may have been responsible for thousands of deaths, not only of people who he killed by using unsterilized equipment, but also the countless patients who tried his insane methods instead of real treatments.
Without actually having read up on this Charles Smith guy, or knowing any more about him than what I’ve learned in this thread, it seems he’s Canada’s answer to our very own Roy Meadow.
