I’m not seeing “He’s a genius” in there. I’m seeing “He’s making money off being nuts” in there.
Come on, in what other way would anyone consider Charlie Sheen a genius? Of course I was talking about money.
I wouldn’t see this, but nor would I watch a single episode of Two and a Half Men.
His failure added to what I’ve heard, makes me think his rants WERE scripted. Now that he has to face an audience he couldn’t pull it off.
It reminds me of what I read about Lucille Ball. She was a great comedic talent, but it has always been said, she was no quick wit without a script.
If you look at interviews with her or when she plays on game shows, she just comes across as dull and unfunny.
I recall her interview with Dinah Shore where she blasts Desi Aranz and blames him for everything, short of the Cold War. Lucy Arnaz Jr in her book said, she was shocked, as she was always on good terms with Desi and the interview made no sense as it wasn’t true.
Look at Britney Spears, when she does interviews she requires the interview to be recorded first and her people get to edit it and approve the exact copy that airs. This pretty much seems to indicate that they are afraid Spears will come off looking stupid or she isn’t up to answering questions correctly.
He arrived at the Chicago Theater for tonight’s show a short time ago:

So, at least show #2 may go off.
If you read some of the articles you can see many people not only paid for tix but also flew across country just to see this douche.
Supposed to have started 30 minutes ago. As much as I dislike tweets, I wish I knew someone tweeting it so I could follow this train wreck as it happens.
TMZ is giving a blow by blow account, you gotta love it
Full story from TMZ
Roe Conn was tweeting live from the show.
I guess the Chicago show wasn’t as bad as the Detroit show. I’m torn. I’ve always been a fan of his work; but he sure is making himself out to be a douche bag. I’d be behind him 100% if he rants were only about network executive screw things up; but the crazy self arrogance stuff has got to go.
Charlie…
Fade to black…
Seriously.
The news coverage last night included a 12-year-old girl who was in the crowd when Sheen arrived, and was very excited because he gave her a T-shirt. I don’t recall exactly what the shirt said, but according to the reporter it was a slang term for snorting large quantities of cocaine.
Classy.
I did not attend either show, but reports suggest he changed the format for his 2nd show, and did very well.
That’s literally it in a nutshell.
I will start off by saying I didn’t attend the Detroit show, but I think Chicago has Detroit to thank for a more palatable show. Apparently, the Detroit show was an unrehearsed & unscripted nightmare with poorly done videos and no cohesive theme. Chicago got an interview style show with prepared questions, no videos & a “Detroit Sucks” theme. The reviews of the Chicago show weren’t exactly glowing, but at least he made it through the whole thing without 95% of the audience wanting to lynch him.
I saw on the Chicago reviews, he charged $10,000 for a back stage meet and greet.
I guess the recession IS over
Whatever he was paying that publicist, that quit early into his escapades, was definitely worth it.
You think he’s not making money on this tour? He may be fouling up future career opportunities, but I 100% guarantee, if he cleans himself up enough to be relied upon to work, he’ll be back making millions in no time.
Huh? I said Charlie Sheen is a genius at making money. So why would I think he’s not making money on a tour. And of course he’ll get another acting job if he cleans himself up.
So when you said that people in that other thread were exclaiming his genius, you meant they were all were just saying he was making money. Those two statements are equivalent to you? I assure you that they aren’t to most people. Do you think the cast of Friends were all geniuses?
