Do you consider the Sandinistas communist? Not a rhetorical question - some don’t, entirely. At any rate while they certainly came to power by the gun, they showed at least some willingness to abide by democratic principles, including tolerating to whatever variable degree multiple defeats at the ballot box.
I skimmed this thread with increasing revulsion. I don’t think Okrahoma or most Republicans are Nazis or white supremacists. But if they were transported to Germany of the early 1930’s, I think they’d be voting for the ‘right’ and encouraging their kids to join the popular clubs with pretty uniforms.
Although it seems to be undisputed that most of the death and injury in Charlottesville occurred in a single incident by a neo-Nazi; and that his action has since been applauded by many (not most) other neo-Nazis, Okrahoma insisted that any attempt to quantify blame was “anecdotal.” (Perhaps we need to wait until the newly-reempowered Breitbart News gives us its final scientific conclusions?)
Ironically, this same Okrahoma defended his own comments by posting a long-winded anecdotal account! 
The length of this account makes me fairly confident it was put together as propaganda and likely to be full of lies. I didn’t skim the entire screed, but did pursue it long enough to catch “the hate groups who were pleasant.” Freudian slip?

I’d never heard of Christopher Cantwell, the right-wing hero of Charlottesville.
I did note the bald-headed man in some of the news videos, calling for violence by his fellow neo-Nazis.
And now he’s on YouTube, literally in tears, because an arrest warrant has been issued against him!
What an utter joke! Those who think the history of 1930’s Germany is being repeated, forget the operative part of Karl Marx’s famous quote: "“History repeats itself … as farce.”
