Colour me confused but I’ve often wondered what the diff is between a Charter member and a common or garden member like moi.

$7 a year.
Why?
When the board first went to pay, those of us who signed up by a certain time were granted the esteemed title of “Charter Member” and guaranteed the lifetime renewal rate of $7.95/year, as long as we don’t let our memberships lapse. Everybody who signed on after that point were charged $14.95/year, and are “Members.”
This seems a bit unfair. I only discovered the SDMB last June, surely if we ordinary plebs keep renewing we should get the same sort of discount you guys have

Yes, I was reminded by a previous thread. I am glad for the reminders, or I would certainly forget. I wish I could subscribe for 5 years or so. I would gladly pay the $40 up front.
