Charter Members: Who and how many are left?

[QUOTE=Colibri]
GusNSpot has the lowest number of anyone who isn’t staff, 33.

Yeah. There are periodic references to the '99ers, but the real elite club is of those with two-digit join numbers.

#41 here. Who are these kids and why are they on my lawn?

Hmm, now I will have to check next time I have on my laptop and have a cursor I can use to hover…

ETA: checked the User CP and it says that my profile page is #13,817

Is that my #?

99er and I lost it ages ago. Hasn’t really affected me.

Yup.

It doesn’t show anymore but I’m one. And #5806.

I’m one but it won’t show as a mod.

#2145 as a 99’er.

I’m 10883, if anyone is keeping track for some reason. Paying for the membership is worth it to keep the ads away, and this is good cheap entertainment, especially the occasional truly marvelous rant in the Pit.

I’m far from a prolific poster, but I’ll proudly wave my 47 at the kids refusing to get off of my lawn.

I’m 7912. I’m probably on your lawn, but not because I’m a kid - I am too deaf to hear you yelling.

I can block the ads in other ways, and I don’t use the title, but I like this place and want to support it.

Regards,
Shodan

3597 checking in. I read almost daily in a half-dozen forums.

Occasionally we have “Who has lowest post count with the oldest membership?” threads.

I suspect you’d win.

I’m one. I no longer post much, though; the older I get, the less I’m compelled to share, and the more I realize that no one gives a fig about the minute details of my life. Lurked on the AOL boards, joined here in 2001 when I was 17.

Just so I’m not accused of being anti-social . . .

Whenever I’m looking for a good table at a nice restaurant, I let it casually slip that I just so happen to be a Charter Member at the SDMB, then get seated next to the bathrooms.

I was one, but left the board for a while which caused the charter membership to lapse. The leaving may have become permanent but I received a PM from a member asking me where I went as they missed my posts. I came back and access to the boards still worked so I just continued as a guest since then.

I lurked in 99 and signed up in 2000 and my first post was my death pool list. So a lapsed CM here too.

Well, you beat me but I’m still happy with my #199

As others said, I lost my Charter Membership before from a lapsed payment and, by the time they got around to offering “Regain your Charter Membership” about a year later, I’d stopped caring (and subscribing). If there’d been a grace period at the time when I was actually a little sad, I likely would have taken it.

Not sure when I first started reading, but didn’t join up until 2002 when I needed to do a search. The pennies I spend on re-upping my CM are well worth it if it keeps the board hamster free.

Found my number - 8760. Looks like I joined the board just before starting college.

#32862; my Freshman year of college, when I finally had internet worth a damn. The CM is worth it for the annual enjoyment of the fantasy baseball league alone - the other several hundred hours of entertainment are a bonus.
