You can renew for two years – but you have to do one year at a time – and you have to schedule it so you renew for a year and then return when you have less than 365 days worth of current subscription going on – then and only then can you renew for the second year. But sure, two years like that is a good feeling, so go for it!
Thanks for the reminder, but I think I’ll just fade away this year.
Is it embarrassing to have only 200 some-odd (some odder than others…) post yet have the cherished “Charter Member” designation? I just type really, really slow.
Nyeh. It’s all part of the club, boy. Kind of like the Masons, right?
I’m in.
I think I’m in… if my bank doesn’t refuse the PayPal transfer… they’re funny about shit 'round about these hyere parts.
BTW, why does the subscription page ask for my postal address? Since you don’t have to physically ship me anything, that falls into the category of “none of your business”. If it would require a mod to a VB template to get rid of it, OK, but if you can configure it not to ask for it, you might do so. In the meantime, I hope you don’t mind a phony address, since it won’t let you leave it blank.
I think the credit card companies use the billing address as part of the verification process. So by filling in a phoney, it might make them think your card’s been stolen.
Wow, you’ve even got me beat on that one.
“…at those better than I.”
Is there a preferred way to pay? I would have preferred to use PayPal (like I always have before) but then I thought about Paypal’s fee, and I wondered if the board gets more of the $7.48 if we pay directly rather than via Paypal. Or maybe it’s the other way around, and merchant fees are more than Paypal’s cut? Or maybe it doesn’t matter…?
True, although there is some wriggle room in informal speech and writing.
From the Columbia Guide to Standard American English:
I doubt that Sister Mary Dominic would let you slide on that. She’d make you say "all those better than I (am), Then, “all those better than me am”.
“Now, Mr. (Ms) Autolycus, write that correctly on the blackboard fifty times.”
mangeorge
Sigh…Worse peon here.
WHERE is this User CP?
Top of (ANY) board page once logged in, at far left of the top toolbar; this toolbar is below the header that tells you where on the board you are, welcome, when you last visited.
Thanks!
At least this time it was mere old age eyesight, and not my normal blonde ditziness!
why does it say member and not Charter Member under my name since I’ve not missed the deadline??
:smack: Oh…I stand corrected.
I have a question-if the site is giving me problems, and I’m not able to pay before time runs out-do I lose my charter status, even if the problem is at your end?
Not sure the problem is on our end. I’m still looking for another report on this so we can run it down. So far I haven’t heard this from anyone else.
But you’re covered now, correct? So not an issue for you.
We take all factors into consideration where this sort of thing is concerned. I am sure Jerry (who is the arbiter on this) would not remove someone from Charter Membership where they tried to subscribe in good faith and could not because of technical problems that were found to be a fault in the system. Jerry is very fair. Jerry is also a stickler for scheduling and will have zero sympathy for someone who lets time get away from them and then wants to resubscribe at the Charter rate further down the road.
Our advice to all Charter Members who have yet to resubscribe: Don’t put it off.
