well… I finally made my decision and am going to put in an offer on a house.
I decided to not even bother looking at the latest listing because it is a short sale and they have a high fail rate as well as they can take longer to process. The realtor told me a lot of people list their houses as short sales in an attempt to postpone foreclosure and most of them don’t even want to sell. So rather than risk it I am just going to put in an offer now.
I told Sah-son about the two houses and even though he hasn’t seen them he has a preference and that is the one I am making an offer on (especially since the other one already has a contract on it). I hope I am making the right choice but it’s not life or death, worst comes to worst and I hate living there I can rent it out for more than the mortgage payment.
I’m hoping to settle in 30 days or so, which should have me moving when the HFH is away so that will make the move easier without her being here. She’s supposed to be going to Europe for two weeks at the beginning of September (shhhhh I’m not supposed to know) to meet up with the other HFH.
Having her walking around gloating because she drove me out will not make for a smooth move

I have had a few major breakthroughs on the boat, and my coworker has too, and combined, we are in good shape finally!!! Things should be a little less hectic and less stressful now that we’ve got all our problems pinned down
Thank you for the kind words everyone. We’re not even officially a couple yet or anything so it’s no matter how things go it’ll be fine. He’s a good friend and if things don’t work out romantically between us, we’ll still be good friends, I think. I’ve never been in this situation before though, that a possible romantic involvement grew out of a friendship where there were never any romantic intentions to begin with. Kind of cool and weird and confusing at the same time.
The age difference is constantly on both of our minds too, I think… He never thought he’d ever want to date someone as old as me, and I am never romantically interested in guys much younger than me, either. And yet here we are!

I was irritated when I got home today, so I indulged in some retail therapy. I now have the complete main *Dune *series. Enjoying the Brian Herbert Dune books makes me anathema maranatha to some about the Dope, but I do not care. Those curmudgeons do not control my bookshelf.
