Chasing a dream into the MMP

I’m already halfway to ** Drea **. Getting high here for the weekend. I will take a picture of my closet when I get home. All welcome to come! (Acting) guv just spoke to us: “NJ is open & stronger than the storm!”

** Cap’n **, gotta go talk to to folks about a birthday - they just launched a person from a cannon!

She’s been browsing Think Geek.

That’s where the Doctor Who towel is that we are going to get her, fellows.
HINT. HINT.

I went out and sat in the sun for a while and my ear started feeling better.
Now I am irking. I debated calling in sick but I took of the last two Fridays to go house hunting so I figured I’d better work.
I don’t know what it us with contract on house, I haven’t signed anything yet and haven’t given them a deposit. The agent says he is working on it, I didn’t know it took a long time but who knows what all crap goes into them these days.

Oh em gee!! Cute black pug!!!

Congrats, Sir! They advertised that on News Radio 88 today. Of course there are about 10 miles of 2-way roads going in or out. We don’t go because it takes forever to get home (and how they got The Gov to fit through such narrow roads, I’ll never know).

Personally my beef is the very loud live band behind our house that thinks The chorus / title is “Betcha Gosh Pollywog” and not “Betcha By Golly, Wow” :-/ .

We’ve had rain, and more tomorrow! Most burn bans are lifted.
My arismea all died back though despite heavy watering. :frowning:

Swampy, Jim, Spiderman, Mom, did you read post 42?

{{{swampy}}} I’m sorry about your friend. :frowning:

Today’s been pretty good. I went hiking with a couple of friends this morning which wore me out so I took a short nap this afternoon and have been working some tonight.

Tomorrow will be water aerobics and then???

I’m sorry about my tuxedo.
Swap Bear, I offer my condolences, for what they are worth.

:frowning:

If you are up for it, you can make some soft dog food for your pup with whatever ingredients you want

Here is the base recipe to start with

Irked. It was Night of The Slow Confused People. : headdesk :

Yappy Birthday Higgs!

Blurf

(((((Swampy))))), I’m sorry to hear about your friend.

I had a lie-in this morning which was very nice, got up and fed the mogs then did the ironing and got the ladder out to fix the curtains on the big landing window. The window is 6’ high and since the windowsill starts at my waist level, there’s no way I can reach the curtain pole. Thus ladderage was required. Now I’ve fixed it, I pulled the curtain too hard and broke three of the hooks so I had to put some new ones up to get the curtain to cover the window again.

Today there will be errands in town and then I have to go over to my friend’s house as she’s away for the weekend and I am feeding her three mogs. There will also have to be a half-hour wii session at some point too, got some weight to lose after last weekend’s Belgium trip.

And it’s only 31 days until I leave for Canada!

{{{swampy}}} - you’ve been dealing with the loss of way too many of your friends. So sorry. :frowning:

**sari **- I’m no expert, but if you haven’t signed anything or given any earnest money, what the heck is your realtor doing?

Waaaaay too short a night. I didn’t go to bed till midnight, and naturally, the dog got me up early. But I’m caffeinating, so I should survive. I just had a crabber pop up with an early end predicted, so I’ll need to leave here at 1030. If someone else goes out with a later return time, I could possibly get 2 - we shall see…

As for *Tommy *- it wasn’t bad, believe it or not. The theater is a 40’s vintage movie house that seats about 300, so a small venue. We had 3rd row, center, but honestly, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. There was an “orchestra” - mostly guitars and piano, but it included a french horn player who could have used a little more practice.

The staging was quite good, especially for such a small area. Very creative use of the space. Some of the singers were impressive, altho not the Acid Queen, unfortunately. Her song was way out of her range. Same for the lead - mostly he did really well, but a few times, you could tell he was reaching for notes.

My biggest complaint is one I’ve had for many shows - everyone was wearing a wireless mic. Like I said, this was a small theater - probably a quarter of the size of the auditorium at my high school. [geezer mode] Back in the olden days, whether you were in chorus (as I was) or a drama llama, you were taught to aim for the back row. You projected. I know it worked because I was in a show that required me (and a few others) to enter from the back of the theater, and we had no problem hearing the actors on stage as we awaited our cue. So I’ve got a bit of a hatred for wireless mics.[/gm]

But since they decided to use them, they should have had someone on the sound board who paid attention. During one song, none of the girls could be heard, which made for some really weird-sounding harmonies. In fact, many many times, a harmony line would dominate the melody because either the settings were off or some mics were off. That was most distracting. So was “Captain Walker” wearing the uniform of a USAF Chief Master Sergeant… in London… during WWII. Speaking of London, there were some really horrible attempts at English accents, both spoken and sung. Bad choice by the director, IMHO.

Still, for a community theater effort, it was pretty good. Plus they had cookies and lemonade in the lobby for a donation, so for $2, we had a mid-show snack. So I can’t trash it. dammit. :stuck_out_tongue:

I do wish I’d re-listened to the album before we went - at least I might have had better luck understanding some of the less clear singers.

Meanwhile, tahred, tahred, tahred - it’s gonna be a long day. I’d like to finish putting together the last afghan so I can take it to Mom’s tomorrow. That’s my main non-crabber plan.

Happy Saturday!

Afternoon all!

Had a friend and her fiance staying since thursday night (very glad she messaged to confirm the time- I thought they were coming friday…oops).
The city has a free festival on- so I shall probably wander over to have a look at some of it later, but it’s supposed to rain. Mind you, the time said rain is supposed to be starting has been put back multiple times since midday yesterday, so maybe I should risk it.

Also got a barbeque at the beekeeping club this evening- the social whirl is never ending!

Howdy all. My stomach is telling me that it remains to be seen as to whether or not I make it to water aerobics today. I’ve still got about 45 minutes until I have to leave, so I hope it decides to cooperate. After that I might go visit the art show that freebie is at this weekend. It’s the one that I was on the wait list for, but I didn’t make it in. sob

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a hyooomid and froggy 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90 and “isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible.” A fairly routine Summer forecast. The high temp, however, is lower than usual for now so there’s that I suppose. Also, this is supposed to be "my party " at the pool. Alls I know is I have made no edibles and I’m told no beerverage buyin’ as that’s bein’ furnished along with vittles. I do know I get cheesecake (the baked kind you prevs!) so yay for that!

Thanks for the condolences. When someone has multiple health problems, sooner or later it all catches up and that’s what happened with Debbie. Jimmy, her husband, Andy, her son, and Dolly, one of her sisters, were with her when she died and Dolly tells me it was a peaceful death in that Debbie breathed deep a couple of times and that was it. I’m glad for that. They had gotten a call about five a.m. yesterday morning from the hospital saying her vital signs were not looking good so they might want to get there asap. I’m glad she was surrounded by loved ones.

MOOOOOOM we can forgive a lot when it comes to community theater productions can we not. I’ve been to a few here and they are surprisingly good for the most part. Sounds like over all it was a good time, plus, hey, lemonade and cookies!

Time for more caffiene and sustenance for rumbly tummy. Then I shall either go back to beddy bye for a bit or clean up. It’s Sattidy so I’m all willy-nilly.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

ditto

Getting the ol’ mourning dove stinkeye

Happy Saturday!

It’s a sunny 71 with a projected high of 84. I think I will open the window for a bit.

I should have gone to the doctor for my ear yesterday. The pain kept me up half the night, I feel like hell.
I took more aspirin and then some advil and finally fell asleep.

{{{Swampy}}} I’m sorry about the loss of your friend.

FCM the realtor sent me a text last night saying the papers are ready, but he wanted to make sure I don’t want to look at anything else. I guess he knows I’m not 100% sure I am picking the right one. Well I’m sure it’s the one I want, it’s not perfect but no house will be.

Apes thanks for the recipe I think my dog will like it.

Happy belated birthday to **Higgs **

I just found an Ow.ly account (a photo-website, apparently) owned by Calgary’s mayor. I don’t know the context for almost all of the pictures. It’s kind of amusing. For example, there are many out-of-context pictures of pairs of socks.

I’ll be going to a comedy show tonight, and hopefully other stuff.
