Chasing a dream into the MMP

Since this is a do it yourself wedding, it’s kind of hard to relax. There are all kinds of things to do once we get down there too. There isn’t a caterer or a wedding planner. So, it’s all hands on deck once we get there. But, that’s okay. I’m happy to help them.

Once things get rolling, I’m sure we will all have a blast.

As I said, it’s not my wedding, and it’s not my right to interfere in any way. Yes, we gave them some money to help pay, but the day is all about them, not us.

Bless you. I no longer expect to ever get married, but I’ve watched enough friends struggle with their parents over what they (the parents) want the wedding to be like that your attitude about it is like the sun coming out in February. If I ever manage to get married, I think my mother will just be so surprised that she does whatever I ask in case I suddenly change my mind. Well, she won’t do it herself. She will hire a big fancy wedding planner, and then she will make sure I am forced to have an engagement party and at least one (possibly two) showers because she has spent the last fifteen years buying engagement, shower, wedding, and baby presents for every lastdamnone of my over-twenty (just first) cousins, and she wants me to get what she feels is due to me.

Having said that, I hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding, and my best wishes to your daughter and new son-in-law!

I’ve got one more wedding this summer (next weekend), and it’s the really fancy one (it says “black tie welcome” on the invitation). Then I’m off the hook for weddings until October. After that, perhaps I won’t have to be the spinster cousin with no plus-one at anybody’s wedding for a year or two.

Happy Firday!

Well actually it’s a sucky Firday for me but I hope it is happy for y’all.

It’s a warm sunny 70 degrees with a projected high of 82.
Sah-son just got done mowing the front yard.

I started getting a sore throat last night which went into a ear throbbing hard enough to wake me up and keep me up. I took two aspirin and tried some drops which didn’t help much but I finally got back to sleep.
My ear still hurts this am but not as bad.

Then the (expletive) HFH has started her shit this morning. She knows I’m working and keeps turning the fan on, the whole house fan which makes a tremendous amount of noise.
The other evening the (expletive) dogs kept barking, which the leads to my mother’s bf screaming at the dogs to shut up, which then led to my mother and me getting into it. I don’t know why she got all pissy, all I did was ask her if they were trying to get me fired.

Ya know, maybe I am looking at this all wrong. Maybe they want me to get fired because they love me so much they don’t want me to leave
Have fun Taters

Thank Gawd my husband took the day off from school. I needed the company. Being left home with two 5 year olds would make anyone a little loopy. Right?

I’ll take your twins if you take the HFH.

Finally ate something so I feel a lot better except my ear still hurts.
I wish there was soft dog food that doesn’t have beef in it. Sah-dog has allergies and he does better on salmon and sweet potato dog food, however he is getting old and the crunchy stuff is hard on him.
He loves the hamburger type food but he gets itchy when he eats it.

Six jars of peach jam are now cooling on the counter. It was a smaller batch than I’d intended to make, but I didn’t have as many peaches as I’d thought. So I’ll probably be doing another batch before they go out of season.

And, alas, the house is closed up because it’s warming up a bit and the damned fish can’t get too hot. Stoopit aquarium. Oh, and we lost another fish - it jumped out of the water and on to the glass where it baked under the lights. Stoopit fish.

**sari **- I know gravy train makes canned chicken dog food - is that what you mean by soft? My dog likes it, but then she likes cat poop, too, so I would look askance at her testimony.

I haz tux.

**Spidey **- pics or it ain’t so!!!

To my mind, any man in a well-fitted tux always looks great. The key being “well-fitted” - plus I’m thinking of the classic black tux, no crushed red velvet, thankyouverymuch! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d like it to be more of the hamburger type soft food, mushed in noses and mushy food makes a mess.
I think I need to go to the doctor for my ear.
It stops hurting for a while and now I want to cry it hurts so bad.

I agree that a fitted tuxedo or suit can make any man look amazing

Happy friday everyone!

We are finally catching up on our work out here. A few more days and we should be all caught up. The rate at which new data is coming in is pretty slow so it’s easy to play catchup. Thank goodness for that!

I worked out a bit yesterday for the first time in a while. During my 28 days off I didn’t even work out ONCE… :frowning: Ugh!! But I’m back on the horse again now and it felt good. Definitely a bit rusty but I think after a week I’ll be ok.

Y’all get to hear it here first, before I make the general announcement in another established thread: pigeon eggs DO exist. We have mourning doves nesting on the front porch, and there was one egg in the nest a week ago. Haven’t checked since then to see if there are more.

I realized when talking to **FCD **a bit ago - today Higgs is one year old! She celebrated by pooping on the rug this morning.

At least she looks guilty about it.

Gonna get gussied up for the theatah tonight. Behave while I’m out!

MWAH!!

Howdy Y’all! Home, and pizza is et. Yum.

I have a sad. A good friend died early this mornin’. Debbie had health problems for years. Diabetes, heart problems, trouble breathin’, and lately kidney problems. She was in the hospital and had been for goin’ on two weeks due to kidney problems. That seemed to be doin’ better but then her vital signs went south early this mornin’ and she died just before six a.m. :frowning: There will be a visitation on Sunday evenin’, the funeral on Monday mornin’ and burial later that day in Sanderson, FL where her husband is from and also where her daughter who was born in the late 80s and lived only a few hours is buried. RIP Debbie. You were as stubborn and cantankerous as they come but I loved ya anyway.

Taters I’m sure the weddin’ will be great. Best wishes to the soon to be newlyweds. May they be happy together for many, many, many, many years to come.

Happy Birthday Higgs!

MOOOOOOM we expect a full review of Tommy later. :stuck_out_tongue:

$2.99 I agree. A man in a nicely fitted tux is rowr!

flytrap use a coaster. MOOOOOOM will be poed if she sees a ring on the coffee table.

It is a clever ruse to lull FairyChat and Company into a false sense of security.

Memo to self: burn tuxedo.

Met at ages 24 and 31 (he’s the older), married a bit over a year later, at 25 and 32.

Anyone want one of these for the holidays?
