Can anyone recommend a good chat room. And by good I mean one that stands out from teh other millions out there. (oh…it also has to be free)

The only gui chats I know of are places like Everquest and Anarchy Online… both of those are pay sites though. They also feature bottom of the barrel intellect and alot of “kekekekeke ^-^” jargon.

Off to MPSIMS.
The “Trivia” room. Great people, they hold annual meets each year in a different city, and the chat room is not just the usual “A/S/L” blah blah blah.
People play trivial pursuit (of a sort). Rules are 1.) Wait your turn, 2.) the Person who answers the Q on the table correctly gets to ask the next Q, and 3.) No number Q’s
Other than that, anything goes, you get anything from obscure mythological trivia, to 50s TV, to music etc. And of course people chat in between questions.
Lots of cool people, it’s similar (in that there’s a purpose, that of learning stuff, and stretching one’s brain) though much more casual than here at the SMDC.
If you go, be aware that many of the old regulars are real smart asses. Don’t take it to heart, just give yourself some time to become a regular.
