Hi, all. By any chance, does anyone here know of any unusually cheap flights from the DC area to Istanbul? I’ve got a summer class there starting on June 1st, and I’m already checking the standard websites (travelocity, expedia, etc.), but I thought there might be someone amongst the Teeming Millions who’d found an obscure (but cheap) way to fly there.
If you’re a student, check STA Travel at www.statravel.com. They sometimes have cheaper international flights.
Thanks, Doctor Who.
Someone once recommended www.kayak.com to me. It is a clearinghouse of all other services-Travelocity, Expedia, etc. I’ve been pleased with it, but not sure how well it works internationally.
http://www.itasoftware.com is by far the best route for airfares that I’ve ever found, but it takes just a little getting used to.
I found a lot of flights in the $935-955 range which seems pretty reasonable to me for getting to Istanbul.
You might want to look at splitting the journey, and use a low-cost carrier from a major European hub. http://www.whichbudget.com/en/ lists your options.
One way, one stop, $779, Austrian airlines. I didn’t know your return date.
