What’t the Great Debate? Maybe we can find some people who think election fraud is Okey Dokey somewhere. Or we can debate whether something Bricker finds “interesting” is, in fact, “interesting”. Maybe the Rush thread should have been here so we can debate whether or not the US should try and help the victims of the earthquake. The OP offered nothing.
It’s just another “Some doofus on their side said something stupid” thread, serving no purpose. Put it in the Pit, or better yet, MPSIMS.
Ed Schultz is one of those names I’ve heard more than once, so I knew he was famous for something, but I didn’t really know what. Kinda like Ashton Kutcher.
So he said something that bothers Bricker that we’re all supposed to denounce.
There are enough people here that have offered sentiments that boil down to, “Republicans are evil.” If that’s so, Schultz can’t be the only one who’s had a similar thought, although perhaps he’s the only one foolish enough to admit it. Undoubtedly there are plenty of people on the right who would cheerfully cheat if they thought they’d get away with it and ensure a Pub victory. It doesn’t strike me as impossible to imagine that there’s one or two such individuals who feel the same way about ensuring a Dem victory, especially with such high national stakes.
And perhaps one such person might decide to defend that view here.
It’s unlikely – and obviously not happening – but not impossible, is it?
Never thought of it that way. I think I’ll start another thread like this one.
“Utah’s State Senate Majority Leader Sheldon Kirkpatrick was arrested for DUI last week”. So, the issue for debate is whether or not Republicans on the SDMB support driving while intoxicated. Or, Mark Anthony Jacoby, was arrested for voter fraud for Republicans last year. So the issue up for debate is if Republicans are fine with voter fraud."
I’m not sure I’ll hear from any of them, but it’s not impossible. Is it?
I sort of like Schultz’s qualification, though. “If I lived in Massachucettes, I’d try and vote 10 times”. Because, of course, it’s illegal to try and vote in a state your not a resident of, so he can’t do it.
I don’t recall hearing of the Schulz jerk before now either (I get my news from reading), but how about we all agree that MSNBC should fire the asshole for advocating a crime. He should be fired. And I hope before the day is out.
What’s more, in the spirit of tu quoque with respect to the OP, why didn’t the OP suggest the guy be fired?
I sort of took it to mean that he hates Republicans enough to commit voter fraud but doesn’t hate them enough to drive over to a shithole like Massachusetts.
Er…I’m probably missing a whoosh here but I took it as he knew he would be caught otherwise he’d cheat as much as a he could and encourage others to do so. A disgrace.
Got two bits says that friend Bricker couldn’t have picked Ed Schultz out of a line up to save his soul before yesterday. Got my house, my kid, my dog and every dime I ever earned saying that Bricker never, for even one brief moment, truly believed that this was a genuine call for political corruption.
Besides, that’s what we got ACORN for! Well, that and promoting child prostitution, but those are not mutually exclusive.
Never have heard of this guy (other than seeing The Ed show listing on my on-screen guide), I’d like a little more context to see how serious he was. Or, is he well known for making inflammatory comments?
I haven’t read the article, as mine internets are all wonky today, but if he says what the OP quotes him as saying, I’d be perfectly content with his firing from MSNBC.
I’ve also never heard of him. For some reason, I was think of someone with the first name of David.
He’s a political talk radio host. What do you think?
Seems like a pretty obvious bit of talk-radio hyperbole about the importance of everyone getting out and voting even for a candidate as shitty as Coakely just to beat those goat-farking Republicans (his supposed opinion, not mine).
But let me join the chorus of “yup, voter fraud is bad m’kay”.
