Here is what happens if Dems will do it: Republicans will.
The Republicans are so morally bankrupt right now that I would not be surprised at any illegal and unethical things they would do to get power. They’ve already lied, protected pedophiles, ignored prostitute-seeking adulterers, prayed for the death of a fellow Senator, actively encouraged foreign countries to side against the president, and spouted treasonous and seditious anti-government rhetoric. You are living in a fantasy world in which Dems NOT doing it magically transform the Republicans who see the error of their ways.
Why would they if they can win with these tactics? Who’s going to step up and tell them to stop? The Dems who are not in power? The grassroots conservatives who think Obama was born in Kenya? These people are deluded morons who are so hyper-partisan that they will delight in Dems taking the moral stance, that only means we’ll lose.
Dems are only doing this as a counter to Rep tricks and lies. If you want zero sides doing this, make sure the Reps stop first, then the Dems won’t get so desperate to try it
“Anything and everything”? There is no line to be drawn anywhere?
And when does this stop? When there are no Republicans left? That isn’t going to happen, so you just granted yourself license to violate the constitution indefinitely. Congratulations. You have met the enemy and they are you.
Maybe when Dems start actively praying for the death of their colleagues and telling people to not donate to a devastating tragedy you’ll have a point. Until then, it is only the Republicans who are deserving of being kept from power. Dems aren’t great, but they are so morally superior to Reps that it would be like comparing an angel to a terrorist.
The only enemy here are Reps. While I cannot realistically hope for that magical day when there are no more Republicans left, I can realistically hope that they never get anywhere close to a filibuster minority. That is what this Massachusetts race would do. It is not one seat in a 535 seat Congress. This will be the vote for whether or not tens of millions of Americans will live or die based on policy Reps have supported in the past when they were in power but obstruct now because they care more about hurting Dems than saving American lives.
You are defending the same people who would rather kill millions of Americans than allow an opposition president to do his job. You are defending traitorous murderers. There is no, and should be no line drawn to oust them from power.
A “bash Bricker” thread belongs in the Pit, as does a “bash [whatever political ideology I don’t like this week]” thread.
On the other hand, this did not start out as an actual rant, so I am not going to foist it off on Gfactor, but then it is certainly not a debate, so I am not leaving it open, here. I have also noted that a couple of you are too eager to imply trolling and the next time I see such accusations, however carefully you think that you have disguised them, you will receive Warnings for that behavior.
