Cheaters in online video games

Um, huh? So what? I’m not trying to establish the existence of cheaters. It’s quite obvious they exist.

I notice you didn’t have anything to say about the question in my last post. Wonder why.

Well, what I’m saying, by and large, is that you tend to suck at logic and determining reality, an observation, not an attack - I’m sure you compensate with enhanced social skills. I’d also like to point out that you are a doper too, so apparently in your own opinion, by and large, you suck at computer games as well.

Perhaps? Maybe? Tell you what. You want to provide some actual evidence for anything you’re saying here, I might listen. Until then, I’m going to go ahead and trust my experience in gaming over someone on the internet trying to tell me what I saw. My BF2 profile has already been posted in this thread, I’m not a n00b.

And your posts smack of cheating bitch. Sorry. Well, no, I’m not. In my experience people bringing what you’ve brought here are the cheaters trying to defend their idiocy. Carebears? Butthurt? Yeah, any little tiny shred of credibility you might have had is gone now. Anything you say here just sounds like a whiny little child trying to cover for the fact that he’s obviously wrong.

And pointing it out gets them caught and banned. If everyone keeps quiet about it, everyone thinks it’s ok. If people are bitching, then stuff gets done about it. Well I’m bitching. I cheer when I see people getting kicked for cheating on servers. I wish I could volunteer time to help catch cheating bitches, like, I’m guessing, yourself.

That would be right here, dear:

I politely await your groveling. Especially since you misrepresented my post–we were all in reponse to the people (such as yourself) who are trying to argue that what people encounter is not cheating but just poor game mechanics coupled with bad playing on the part of the complainer.

For those of you having trouble with cheating, I’d recommend switching to a relatively recent Valve game – say, Left 4 Dead or Team Fortress 2. While I’m sure cheating exists (particularly from people running their own servers), I’ve played both games for hundreds of hours and can’t say that I’ve ever run into a confirmed cheater. Valve considers cheating Serious Business and you risk your ability to play the game if you cheat. I figure that this is about right.

I agree, but I did come across someone in L4d who was way too good at shooting Infected through walls. It wasn’t the occasional spray through a wall, or the Infected standing predictably just around a corner.

No, this was a guy who would do one-shot kills through walls on a fairly regular basis.
