I think the test is imperfect, but gives a decent idea of how your beliefs compare to various religions and philosophies. In case you haven’t noticed, you can click on the item in your score after you finish the test to get an overview of that religion or philosophy.

My mom is ex-Catholic and has been into a mixture of New Agey, Celtic, Native American, and Eastern beliefs since before I was born. My dad was raised Seventh-Day Adventist and seemed to be pretty nonreligious when I was growing up, but recently he’s been weirding me out with Bible talk when I see him.
As for me, when I lived with my paternal grandparents, they used to drag me to church on Saturdays and I hated it. I thought it was stupid and I was missing all the good cartoons, dammit! When I got a little older they let me stay home at least. Later when I lived with my mom I halfheartedly believed in some of her stuff, but in recent years I’d consider myself an agnostic leaning heavily towards atheist, and moderately antireligious. I guess Secular Humanist describes my belief that we should all work to make our world a better place to live, whether or not there is any otherworldly reward or punishment.
Ha! Don’t you just love the Google Ads at the Bottom of this thread.
Thanks a lot folks, this thread was quite amusing and informative. I’m glad others liked it too!
Only a few surprises here. I guess I’ll have to change my profile, though.
Yo, Dopers.
Long time no post.
Still, my top three results are:
Secular Humanism 100% (no surprise)
Unitarian Universalism 99% (still no surprise)
Nontheist 82% (again, no surprise)
The most amusing to me was:
Roman Catholic (born and raised) 30%. I guess that’s because I think compassion and confession of/atoning for wrongdoings are vital to a moral life.
I too am disturbed by the scientology rank being so high…
I once made a Jehova’s witness question his faith, so I am glad to see it at the bottom of the list…
