Check out this chubby guy's bluesy version of Sexy and I Know It... no, REALLY, check it out

Just a MPSIMS caliber thing but since it’s music I’ll put it here. This video is not quite viral yet but will get there fast: a chubby guy named Noah has done a bluesy/folksy cover of LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It that’s one of those Susan Boyle “I never anything that good coming!” moments.

Even if you don’t like the song, the guy’s incredible.

Thoughts?

This Noah guy is good. And while the song is still pretty dumb, his version makes it sound sort of like a knock-off of Bo Diddley’s “I’m a Man” – a vast improvement over the original.

Dayum.

Reminds me a bit of the Chris Cornell cover of Billie Jean that was in turn covered by David Cook.

Please feel free to link to other favorite “completely different” covers of songs you like.

This one’s actually pretty famous now: Karmin’s cover of Look at me Now.

Whoa. I would buy that if he put it on iTunes.

Holy shit.

That was most excellent, but I’m having a hard time matching that voice with that face. He sounds much older than he looks.

How much do you want to bet that he gets invited to audition for the next season of The Voice?

I seriously want to buy that. Wow. I’m blown away.

Holy shit, he’s great!

He was on Today Show this morning; I’m sure the video is up but I haven’t looked at it. It’s officially viral now.

Blimey, he’s good. I have to admit I haven’t heard the original - the lyrics are ridiculous but he sings them with passion, dammit. He’s not really Susan Boyle, though, he does look as if he’d have a big voice, and with some jogging and fruit juice he’d tidy up. Well, it’s not really a big voice, but with those lungs I’m sure he can work on sheer power. I picture him doing one of those Rocky training montages, jogging and then shouting at pigeons in order to build up his lung power.

Also, he’s going to have no shortage of hot chicks. If I wore a cap, I would doff it in his direction. Now, he needs to find something worthy of his instrument.

Yeah, it is being talked up. Really good - so good for him!

Thank you for sharing it pre-viral on the Dope!

Very good, too bad the video doesn’t go with the audio. The vocal is in sync but the guitar strumming doesn’t match up with the audio at all. Watching him hit the sixth string and not hearing a good low thummm is eerie. I also suspect there are two guitar tracks.

Wonder what the original track sounded like.

Alanis Morisette and My Humps qualify.

(I offer solely because I’m impressed with myself for thinking I might be able to suggest something, considering my near complete lack of music knowledge.)

Oh, wow. Very nice.

I admit, it made the rounds of my Facebook Friends last week, but I never clicked 'cause I thought it was a Laugh At Fattie thing. Glad I was wrong.

Holy smokes! I actually like the original tune, it’s dumb but it’s fun. This guy un-dumbs the song and makes it HOT. Thanks, Sampiro!
