Sooooooo… I know some of you are aware of my latest hobby, but for the thousands who aren’t…
I draw an online comic strip now! It’s strictly a labor of love at this point - I derive no income from it, so I feel safe in shamelessly promoting it.
It’s called “Scandal Sheet!” and it chronicles the lives of a bunch of people who work at a supermarket tabloid newspaper (at least, it’s going to start focusing on that plotline as of next week; up to now I’ve been beating down and humiliating my main character until he’s sunk low enough to take the tabloid job).
I’ve been doing it since the beginning of June, so there are more than 50 strips in the archives, all accessible and easy to navigate.
I would really appreciate it if you folks would go give it a look and give me some feedback. Just don’t judge it by the first strip… I know how crappy it looks, but the artwork improves vastly by strip #2.
There were quite a few that didn’t make it into print, too. I was devastated to learn that David Cop-A-Feel is an actual porno; also, I was going to have Foster do a shakespearean porn script called King Leer but decided the incestuous undertones that would imply (Lear has three daughters) were a little too whiff for the strip. And there were more, both my own and some suggested by others (The Man Who Blew Too Much was one in the latter category).
Now go and spread the word. Pimp the strip to everyone you know. You are herby invested with the official title of “Scandalista”… wear it with pride, and win followers to the cause.
