Yeah I’m sure his life in D.C. was not luxurious at all.
Yup. Quite the patriot. Five (I think) deferments to stay out of military service but he certainly has no problems sending other people into battle…for a war he played a major part in lying us into.
Well said, Sir!
Dont. Last time I poured bleach in my ear I had to go to the doctor.
Thank you.
Except…I’m not a “sir.”
Am I late to another good old fashioned liberal wankfest?
>bows<
I beg your pardon, Madame.
Unfortunately, if he can buy five deferments, he can probably buy a heart.
But can he buy a soul?
My uncle had a huge one at 39. He smoked 2 packs a day and held the smoke in so long that nothing came out when he exhaled. Now, I can only imagine by some @#$%ing miracle, he’s 57, still smokes, and hasn’t had another one.
He probably sold it to get money for the deferments.
He’s trying to keep himself out of prison.
Cheney is of that patrician class that would damned near have to slash the throat of a nun on live television before there’d even be a chance of prison, and even then it would be far from a certainty.
Cheney could have retired to a life of luxury… instead he became one of the most powerful men in the world. That’s not exactly a selfless act. Politicians would have us think otherwise but going into politics is not proof of a pure heart.
No, go ahead and pull up a Dick and join in!
Oh jsgoddess, I’m sorry – I didn’t mean it that way. Please accept my sincere condolences. It just shocked me, that’s all. I couldn’t imagine someone so young having a heart attack.
As for Cheney, like I said, I’m indifferent. Everyone’s pretty much said how I feel about his character already. But as to him dying? Fuck him. I really don’t give a shit if he lives or dies. I’m not going to wish pain on him or anything like that. But I’m not going to pretend to weep for him, either.
Oh, it happens. After I posted about my uncle I remembered that 2 guys I went to high school with had heart attacks in their early 20s. They were both gym rats, which could’ve been a coincidence, but the rumor was they were on steroids. Still, it was just a rumor. We just think of only old people having heart attacks because that’s the norm, but there are plenty of exceptions. Non-smokers get lung cancer, too. Crazy world we live in.
Someone said Cheney was a smoker-- was that an assumption or do we know this for a fact? Do we know when he quit?
I don’t throw that out there lightly, I had a fairly recent stay in a hospital heart failure unit as the only resident with no immediate heart problems (long story). It’s defintitely not the way I would want to go, or anything I’d wish on anybody. Dying of heart failure sucks.
I kind of hope he lives long enough that his medical bills wipe out all the money he’s screwed out of us American taxpayers, and he gets switched to medicare coverage.
Which, by my calculations, should take approximately 37,546 years.
I’ll keep my sympathy to all the innocent victims of the man’s warmongering ego.
So, fast forward some months, there’s a donor heart for Cheney and he is sent into surgery. Some hours later a very somber surgeon steps out into the waiting room to speak with the family.
-I’m sorry, we did all we could but the body rejected the heart.
-There was a reaction from the immune system?
-Ehh, I guess. The moment we ploped the heart into the chest the patient’s body started to convulse and the vital signs plummeted; then the heart started fizzling, burst into flames (that singed the nurse’s eyebrows) and was consumed down to a lump of coal. After that vital signs went back to normal.
