Cherry-Cranberry Gelatin side dish Recipe

I got this recipe from mom who got it from a friend who…

anyhow, when ever I make this I get compliments on it, even from people who dislike cranberries, so I decided to pass on the recipe to the good folks at the dope.

as always, I make things by eye, so I will give you approximations:

1 package, 6 oz, cherry gelatin. I am sure other flavors such as cranberry or black cherry would be good.

1 cup sugar (I use WAY less. more like 1/4, but to each his own)

1 can of cranberry, the whole type.
1 can of cherrys in liquid, drained (NOT the pie filling stuff)
(I put them both in a processor for a second so that they are very coarsly chopped.

1 can of crushed pineapple, reserve liquid! I tend to substitute peaches that I coarsly chop in the processor, as mr baboon doesn’t like pineapple

1 cup of pecans, but more is good too!
2 cups of boiling water.
_In a large bowl, combine gelatin and sugar. _Add water; stir until gelatin and sugar are dissolved. add the rest of the stuff. chill 2 to 4 hours or longer.
before serving stir it up so as to blend all the fruits and nuts t hat always float to the top.

and that is it.
Enjoy!
