Story here
LP headlined the first REAL concert I ever went to, and their first two albums were off-the-charts good to me.
Their newest album wasn’t regarded very high and he seemed quite offended by it, I hope the backlash wasn’t a key reason.
Either way, it’s a loss for music.
I always mix up Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit.
So my first thought was, “Eh…”

Another huge shock.
Never was a big Linkin Park fan, but loved Hybrid Theory when it came out.
Really respected his vocal abilities as I got older as well, this is another big loss.
Chester Bennington - Rolling In The Deep (Acoustic Adele cover)
Both vocalists for Stone Temple Pilots are now dead, both withing about a year and a half of each other. Huh.
Clawdio:
Sad news. RIP Chester.
Sad. But he left six kids. I can’t imagine.
He sang Cohen’s “Hallelujah” at Chris Cornell’s funeral.
I wonder if Cornell taking his own life might have inspired him to do likewise.
And he was godfather to Chris Cornell’s son.
By the way, apparently Bennington took his own life on what would have been Cornell’s birthday.
I appreciated his work more as I got older. I was sorry to hear this today.
I always wonder about suicides as well, if more could have been done. I am sorry for the pain he was in and the pain his friends and family are in now.

I heard that Chris was Chester’s best friend. As noted above, he killed himself on Cornell’s birthday as well as supposedly leaving a note…to Chris Cornell.
The note left for Cornell was written about 2 months ago, right around when Cornell committed suicide.
RIP
I met him once, backstage at Ozzfest. He was kind and generous with his time. He didn’t know me or why I was there, but he sat and talked with people till it was time to shit an git.
Update: Linkin Park is auctioning off a lot of gear on Reverb.com : https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/03/entertainment/linkin-park-instruments-sale/index.html
(CNN)Linkin Park fans can own a bit of history and raise money for charity.
More than 200 of the group’s instruments are being sold to benefit Music for Relief, an Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) program founded by the rock band. The sale starts Wednesday.
The nonprofit provides aid to people and communities affected by natural disasters.
According to Reverb, the site hosting the sale, the instruments “have been retired from regular use in the studio and on the road by Linkin Park over their more than 15-year career.”
