Chicago: Now with Class

Okay, who else stayed up late last night watching your copy of the just-released-yesterday DVD? I know I can’t be the only one. We had to stay up late because first we had to watch Boy Meets Boy and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (see Otto’s threads).

I was hoping they’d put Class back into the film in place rather than as a special feature. But after watching it I’m not disappointed that they didn’t. I can see why it was cut. It would have seemed out of place, I think. It was rather dull.

I will probably buy the DVD this week. What are some of the other special features? Is it a two-disc set, or just one DVD?

Yay! Off to the store during lunch!!

All I can say about “Class” is that it works on Broadway–in fact, depending on the Mama, it can be one of the highlights. I suppose “When Velma Takes the Stand” wasn’t shot at all? Some of its vamp was heard in later Velma scenes as background.

It’s just the one disc and there aren’t many features. Most of the reviewers I’ve read suggest that it’s a rather paltry release in anticipation of a special edition version at some point in the future.

Bought it yesterday along with Day of the Dead at Best Buy. Because we watched Queer Eye amd Boy Meets Boy last night, we were too sleepy to watch Chicago, but we’ll do that tonight.

Cliffy, you da man! I’m a bit of a DVD snob, in that I only like to buy the special/extended editions with the most extra features possible. I guess I’ll hold onto my Best Buy gift card a little longer!
