Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day

Tried it - the sensation was short-lived and unsatisfying.

In other words, your question is dumb and I decline to take it seriously.

And I just posted this to the one friend on Facebook celebrating this crap. And, based on what I know about her, I will be unadding her soon.

It boggles my mind the Christians who think the Constitution of the U.S. is somehow more important than the Bible. Even if you think this is defending freedom of speech (which I don’t, BTW), that’s just man’s law, not God’s.

A solution to my problems! If I ever give in to temptation, I’ll leave the water running in the bathroom on my way out.

Or take all the napkins.

I can just see someone ordering a small nuggets then calmly loading their bag with every single straw, napkin, cup lid, condiment packet, coffee stirrer, creamer, sugar packet, and lemon wedge they have. I doubt they would even say a word. Even if you made it a habit of doing this.

[sub]I’m not condoning this behavior, but if I saw evidence of someone else doing it, I would most assuredly laugh about it[/sub]

They can and probably should ask you to leave and never come back. I doubt any manager would let you make a habit of costing his business money and hurting his service of other customers.

Yeah, I still don’t support actively trying to hurt Chick-Fil-A in any way other than depriving them of your custom. No going and harassing the workers there, no defacing the premises, no stealing the napkins and condiments, etc. I understand where the impulse comes from but it’s still wrong.

This guy was fired for going to CFA, or maybe he was just being dick, filmed himself being a dick, and posted it on YouTube.

I don’t think anyone in this thread is seriously proposing any of the above. I was certainly joking.

Apparently someone has vandalized one or more CFAs here in LA by writing something like “Tastes like hate” on their walls.

Yeah, I didn’t really think so. I guess I just wanted to officially take a stance for being Down With That Sort Of Thing.

I guarantee that the publicity generated by such tactics will help Chick-fil-A far more than the actual damage will hurt them. Then there’s the damage it does to the gay rights cause among people who wouldn’t eat Chick-fil-A in any event. It’s not just wrong; it’s really stupid.

Yes, I remember when Gandhi’s followers vandalized British government buildings and cars with “Dick Be Upon You” during their nonviolent uprising.

I didn’t see this addressed, so I’ll answer. It only makes sense to say “God didn’t create people gay or straight, rather, it’s a matter of their free choice whether they are gay or straight” if all people naturally feel as much inclination to have gay sex as they do straight sex (at least at first). But they don’t.

Sammy, you can come over here and sit with me and my Husband. We’re big ole Bears. We’ll be your friends…

It’s a common refrain that the South isn’t any different than anywhere else in the country, but in this case it is demonstrably not so. Massachusetts was the first state to legalize same sex marriage in 2004, and the Catholic Church has had nearly a decade to organize their huge following in the state in opposition, but have gotten nowhere. Recent polls show 60% of state residents are in support of same sex marriage. Catholics across the country are in favor by 52% (the same as mainline non-evangelical protestants.) The same holds true for most of the Northeast. Same for the West Coast.

Recent national polls show support is 54% across the nation. The South’s most progressive state, North Carolina, recently passed a constitutional ban on gay marriage and civil unions by a wide margin, making it a clean sweep for constitutional bans south of the Mason-Dixon line.

If you really believe that things are no different in the South, point out one state where same-sex marriage would be accepted judicially or legislatively as it is in Massachusetts. One does not exist. Not even close. Opposition runs at 62% throughout the South, far above any other region in the country.

:dubious:

Not Safe for Work, but not horrible.

Thought this was worth a chuckle.

Eat Mor Cock

So, the rest of America is only composed of 46% gay hating bigots? Man, its like a gay lovefest out there! How will the South ever catch up?

I’m certainly not saying the South isn’t different. It assuredly is, in a number of ways. Most of them I like.

But the phenomenon demonstrated at Chick-fil-A showed everywhere it had the opportunity. You can’t just move north.
