My ride may or may not have to bail, but I’m still hoping to make it either way; looking for cheapass direct flights to/from Chicago as a contingency plan. As a result, I may be able to opt into a last minute activity - or, conversely, I may have to bail alltogether.

Cosmopolitan - just wanted to let you know that I get way better flight deals if I call a few travel agents and compare prices than I do by going to orbitz or travelocity. I just go to those sites first to get a base price then make a few calls…

nyctea just told me that she isn’t going to have the money to go after all, which means that I no longer have a roommate. Jane D’oh is holding a hotel room for me… does anyone want to share it with me? I can’t afford to stay in the hotel by myself.
Cool! I’ve been hoping to hear this announcement for a while. The date should be good, and I’d love to come (hopefully Emily too). I don’t need hotel accomodations, and I couldn’t afford that anyway, but if I can get the info on how to find the different spots by El, everything should be great.
JustPlainBryan and myself will be there. Plane tickets have been bought this morning, and we’re finalizing all our plans.

Gundy, I believe I sent you my email address, but I haven’t gotten an evite from you? Or did I dream that? (Forgive me, it’s been a craptapular day, I have allergies, and can’t think my way out of a paper bag right now.)
If anyone wants to create another summary of who to send emails to for the different evites/events… um… well that would be spectacular and unjustly reward my laziness… None of you happen to be recovering co-dependents, do you? 
Otherwise, I guess I’ll actually have to be responsible for my own happiness and read the thread again… sigh…
We bought our tickets today. We arrive 11:15 am Friday and depart 2:11 pm Sunday, both O’Hare.
Ok I’m getting panicky. I’ve already bought my plane tickets so I’m essentially screwed out of that money no matter what…
…but I made my plans on the assumption that I’d be sharing the cost of the hotel room.
Are there any hostels or campgrounds in the area? I can pack my tent, though it’s bigger than I’d been hoping to bring, luggage wise.
No campgrounds within commuting dstance, but see hostel link in the OP. I’d advise calling them ASAP re: availability.
