Chinese translation in ''The Goonies''

I saw this question on ‘another board.’ Here is the question:

If you grew up in the 1980s, odds are that you have seen “The Goonies”

Towards the end, Sloth picks up the rich guy. Everyone stares in awe, and Data says something in Chinese. (I think it was Chinese, but I could be wrong.) At other times, whatever Data said in a foreign language was subtitled into English. However, his line here was subtitled into Chinese. (Again, I’m no expert. It could have been another language.)

My question is: What does he say? I’m operating under the assumption that it is Chinese. I know enough about Chinese that there are many dialects, but because their alphabet isn’t phonetic, there is only one written language. I’ve been told that it’s “Holy S—” with the S— being spelled out and not spoken. I see it listed in the memorable quotes and trivia sections, but I’m not sure this refers to the line I’m thinking of. Can anyone help?

Uh, isn’t kanji Japanese? :slight_smile:

And I could’ve sworn the Data character was Vietnamese, though I admit I could be completely wrong.

The actor Jonathan Ke Quan was born in Vietnam but is Chinese by blood. The character Data in the movie is also supposed to be Chinese.

Kanji is Japanese, but Japanese Kanji is based on Chinese writing… I don’t know the Chinese word for it.

We’re having an adventure, just like the Goonies!
It was rather disconcerting to meet a woman a month ago who used the word “goonies” to refer to a man’s testicles. :o
