That’s him on the right. I think we now know the real reason they closed down the beach this weekend.

That’s him on the right. I think we now know the real reason they closed down the beach this weekend.
So, he’s totally abandoned such quaint, outdated notions as serving the country; good to know.
The beach thing–along with the blatant public lie (“I didn’t get any sun”)—seems to indicate he’s given up all political ambitions. This isn’t the sort of bullying that bully-worshippers crave. It’s just pure FU-All-Of-U.
One might speculate that he’s been offered a lucrative job in the private sector, but…doing what? He’s PR poison, now–15% approval rating in NJ, according to a Quinnipeac poll–and that was back in June. Who is going to hire him to do anything?
Chris Christie on His 15% Approval Rating: ‘Who Cares?’ | TIME
Maybe we’ve been robbed of the ‘Who Cares ? presidency’…
To be fair, that *is *the New Jersey state motto.
No, the state motto is: F-ALL-OF-YOUS.
(I did ponder making the phrase more Joisey-ish, a la “F-Yas-All, Ya F-ers”, but figured it might be a bit much.)
Wouldn’t that be “F-ALL-OF-YOUSE”?
Woohoo, now he’s a meme!: http://www.cnn.com/2017/07/04/us/chris-christie-beach-meme-trnd/index.html
So, if I’m understanding this correctly, he first closed the beach to the public, THEN took him and his family to the beach for the day, is that about right?
Ok, well then, why is the discussion about his use of language? Or why it’s his wife’s fault he’s not working in the Trump Administration? Or the NJ motto?
I’m confused why all the ‘regular’ people, who were forbidden beach access, aren’t instead talking about how him and his family then spent the day at the very beach he closed. How is his use of ‘you’s’, or ‘youse’, the issue?
I love the beach and would be really pissy if it was closed only to discover that the guy who closed it spent a lovely day there with his family, the entire beach to himself!
But instead the focus is on why he doesn’t work with Trump. Colour me confused!
Check the posting dates.
This thread started in January and petered out after 19 posts. It was a semi-serious discussion of why Christie wasn’t in Trump’s cabinet.
Then yesterday that cheeky Elendil’s Heir posted an update on Christie’s July 4 activities, which has triggered considerable mockery.
There’s a correct spelling of that word? Who knew? ![]()
Thanks! I totally missed the dates, Doh!
(And now I see a thread all about the whole beach closing thing too!)
You cannot abandon something you never had.
Well, I’m not a Christie fan in the least, but that seems a little harsh to me. He served as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, was willing to serve as either Romney’s or Trump’s VP, and ran for President himself. It wasn’t all blind ambition.
Yeah, I think he’s angry and burned out after this last year. He endorsed Trump, followed him around, and just got kicked for it, including by Trump. I think Christie isn’t completely evil, but he is petty, and he knows his career is done, so he’s just…done.
I think this does make him totally evil. He closed the beach to thousands of Jersey families on Independence Day weekend just because he could and used it for himself. These people made plans in advance that were then cancelled because of his snit fit. How can you not call that evil and self serving?
Good point.
An interesting mindset. It’s clear he has zero interest in helping America and is completely self-focussed.
