Chris Christie: Thank you so much for doing your job!

North Jersey got walloped in [del]Hurricane[/del] Superstorm Sandy while South Jersey remained relatively unscathed. That was reversed this past weekend. He was condescending to the girl who asked the question. He verbally beat up the mayor who said this storm was worse than Sandy. (in S Jersey, it was) & then he was rude as hell to those who suffered damages & were just starting their cleanup. How about show a little compassion? Link to video where, when asked about why he’s back in NH he states the flooding is over & states, “I don’t know exactly what you expect me to do: Go down there with a mop?”

In the middle of the storm on Sat, he went on a rant about the flooding in Margate. The backstory is that Margate, which has ‘permanent’ wooden seawalls is fighting the state’s eminent domain takeover attempt to grab beachfront property to build a system of anti-flooding dunes which routinely get washed away in a Nor’easter. However, Margate doesn’t have a problem with ocean flooding. All of the flooding in that town comes from the back bays. Building a dune would do nothing but cost money, lower property values & take away views in order to solve a problem that doesn’t exist but the live press conference that went national didn’t state that fact, just his bullying position.

He isn’t he typical politician who will attempt to kiss everyone’s ass simultaneously & in that sense he’s a breath of fresh air. However, he doesn’t have to go all the way to the opposite end of the spectrum being a vindictive blowhard bully if you don’t agree with him either.

Trump Lite

This is the only thing you wrote that connected with me. I’ve heard similar things before, so it resonates. I think Christie is well centered in terms of policy, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to vote for a guy who might reach for the red button just because Putin took his shirt off in front of him.
