Christian proselytizers in Afghanistan

Possibly Capacitor is referring to adherents of “the nation of islam,” Farrakhan’s creation. I don’t know, I’m just guessing.

Hunh? Neither have I. Where do you live that these Muslims are doing this. To be clear I’m not talking about the bow tie wearing Nation Of Islam AKA “Black Muslims” group. I’m talking about your standard issue Mecca facing, Koran reading, Mohammed quoting Muslims.

IIRC proselytizing is frowned upon by most Islamic groups.

Well, doesn’t this have a lot of potential to wind up in GD?

Anyway, one of the most basic tenets of the Christian faith is to spread your faith. Regardless of what your average person might like to believe so they don’t offend anyone or be offended, Jesus called his followers to go out there and spread his word whether people liked it or not. Yes, to a Christian the soul should be the most important thing. What purpose is there in the Christian view to live a long life as a heathen only to die and suffer an eternity in hell? Better to live a short (and even painful) life as a Christian and receive your God given reward in eternity.

Hey, you don’t have to like it. You don’t have to believe it. I’m not saying I believe it and I’m not trying to pass myself off as a true follower of Christ. But if you can find me the time in the Bible where Jesus helps someone out and doesn’t bring up the fact that He is Lord and the person is supposed to change their life, I’d be interested in seeing it. If you can find the spot where Peter or Paul calls to the disciples of Christ to bring in followers when it’s easy and doesn’t ruffle any feathers, I’d be interested in seeing it. If you can find the place where they say “Here’s a nation of unsaved people in a government that doesn’t appreciate us. Let’s wait until the government changes and then we’ll come in and see what we can do” I’d be interested in seeing it. Rather, I recall reading about a lot of disciples spreading the word to unfriendly Roman and Asian lands and being persecuted for it and at the same time being told what they were doing was correct and was God’s work.

Again, I’m not saying they were doing a smart thing by my own measurements. But by the tenets of their faith and the word of their holy scriptures, I can’t see much to blame them for. Don’t argue against their faith using your own judgements and moral feelings of what’s right and wrong and use that to say they weren’t acting as Christians; these people were acting as Biblical Christians. Unless you can find evidence in their Word to the contrary, they were just doing what they believed God called them to do.

I’d still like to know if there’s any real, bona fide evidence against these people. Anybody got any links?
