I am once again appealing to the Dopers for travel help!
We will be in NYC again this Xmas, and we aren’t sure about Xmas Eve dinner/Xmas day breakfast or lunch ideas. Last year, we went to Tavern on the Green for Christmas Eve dinner, and it was an absolute zoo (thus the service wasn’t good and they crammed in waaaaaaaay too many people), so we are looking for something nice but not totally insane. Xmas Day, we ended up in a little Russian cafe that wasn’t half bad (and it was open!).
So, any ideas? I assume I had better make reservations fairly quickly…
When I first moved to NYC, my family came out for the Holidays. For Christmas Eve dinner we went to Cibo, which I really enjoyed. That site doesn’t say whether they’re doing it this year, but it’s still pretty early. I made reservations in early December, I believe.
Oh wait, it was mid-December, after I started this thread.
For brunch the next day, we went to Murals on 54. Nothing amazing, but it was nice to have reservations somewhere.
I’m pretty sure I found both using anyrose’s link in that earlier thread.
Wow- both of those look yummy, especially Cibo for brunch. We are staying at Central Park South, so we are within walking distance of Sarabeth’s, but we tend to eat there a lot when we are in the city, so we are hoping to try something different!
ETA- ooh, it looks like Norma’s does a Christmas breakfast! That place is downright sinful…
