Yeah, the kids are cute, but maybe I’m really jaded and cynical, maybe it’s jealousy because I find watching these people the equivelant to getting my fingers smashed in a car door.
Too long, I got bored and turned it off. Cute idea though. But, execution could use a bit more variety. So, I don’t the melody but I could dance to it for a while.
So if a pair of psychopaths sees that viral video and targets the family for horrific annihilation, and they make a Lifetime movie of it, some poor actors will have to recreate that video. That’s who I truly feel bad for.
To me, it felt like video parody of those long Christmas letters. Like they were trying to be as annoying as they could with the bragging about the Prius and being in the movie and the vasectomy. As such, I thought it was funny.
I liked the nod to “The Californians” in the beginning w/ the neighbor. Most of it was kinda stupid, but harmless. Looks like they had fun making it, and that’s the important part. Plus it’s a plug for their new business. Christmas Capitalism-- what’s not to love?
It scores high on the funny WTH scale. The wife was doing the snake and the running man in pajamas outside, in front of a stereotypical McMansiony house.
The dad had some flow and the lyrics were clever. He’s not Eminem or anything, but pretty good for amateur.
The little kids were cute.
But the high production value kind of detracts from the whimsey. A lot of planning went into it. That makes it less funny for some reason.
Stupid as hell. I mean, dumb and pointless. It might make for an entertaining video ( for that fambly ) to watch for the holidays, but that’s the extent of it’s reach. Keep it inside, behind closed doors. With Mute turned on.
I haven’t watched the whole thing - but what they showed on local TV I thought was kind of cute. But maybe they only showed the best parts / only seeing 30 seconds impacted my opinion.
Note that The dada is a anchorman who is quitting his job to work with his wife as part of a video production company
Mom was smoking hot but her voice left a lot to be desired. Dad actually could be a rap star, but the talent bar to hurdle for that occupation is rather low.
