Came across a VERY STRANGE Thanksgiving Video

Newbie here.

This is one of the most bizarre videos that I’ve ever seen. It’s only 1 minute long and definitely worth the time.

YouTube Link

A little advice would have been helpful instead of reporting me.

Like I said, I’m a newbie, and by reading the forum descriptions, i thought this was the most appropriate place.

Also, I’m not selling anything, just sharing something?

New video, very low view count, the same link posted to a number of other sites.

Looks like you’re trying to drive views to YOUR Youtube channel.

If you seriously want advice, the reason the post was reported is because it’s a “hey look at this!” link from a new user with little other content in the OP and it points to a Youtube page with the same user name as yours and a video that was just uploaded yesterday with 170-ish views, so it appears you are using the forum to self-promote a video you made, while making it seem like it’s a video you just happened to come across. Bad form.

I don’t think you are SPAMMING. I watched the video and it seems to be a rather poorly done parody with no purpose. Either that, or the narrator is seriously mentally ill.

I am from the internet though so I am hard to impress. I appreciate bizarre videos that were actually meant to be taken seriously.

Some examples are:

One got fat - a bicycle safety PSA that involves a whole lot of monkey masks for no known reason.

or
The Finishing Line - A British railroad safety PSA that is basically the Hunger Games in real life 40 years ago and supposed to be serious.

If you think it is so bizarre why did you create it in the first place?

It’s definitely my youtube site, and think I was pretty transparent about that considering the usernames are the exact same.

Either way, I’m not going to argue with you… I haven’t posted a link to that video anywhere except for this message board. I don’t do “social sites” like Facebook or Twitter so I came here instead (I used to post on baseball message boards about 12 years ago and very much enjoyed it).

Sorry to clog up your “Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share” board with a mundane message that I felt like sharing.

Oh yeah-“This is one of the most bizarre videos that I’ve ever seen” means the exact same thing as “Look at this bizarre video I made”.

I wasn’t going to watch, but since you did…

There’s a minute of my life I won’t get back.

Somebody has posted the link on 4/chan, 4plebs and .nyafuu.org/, multiple postings by Anonymous.
All within the last few hours.

Again, to all, apparently I broke some sort of rule on how you introduce bizarre/amusing things to the internet.

This video was sent to me yesterday, by my brother. It’s a guy that he works with. I thought it was hilarious so I shared with a few friends and coworkers and they all thought it was funny. That’s why I posted it on my youtube channel, which I’ve had since like 2012 and only use for private family videos.

The reason that I chose to join the message board is that I’ve always thought that the patrons were a little bit more mature than the facebook / social media crowd.

Sorry to bother you guys and your forum of “Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share” with exactly that.

His name isn’t “Anonymous”, it’s “jakeberg”-two totally different people!

Registration agreement

Your post appears to be for the purpose of driving traffic your YouTube video, which I think would come under ‘website’.

If you had said, ‘Hey, I made this video. It’s a parody of how Americans tend to conflate things, to come up with their own ‘truth’. I hope you enjoy it.’ then it might not be a rules violation. Or it may be. As a new registrant, such things receive more scrutiny by the moderators.

You’re not paying attention to what others have said above, especially pulykamell. This board, like most others, gets spammed all the time by drive-by posters. Most new users here do an introductory “hey, I’m new here” thread before posting links to another site that may or may not contain malware. Most here are savvy enough to be wary of folks doing that who have no history here. We’re generally welcoming to new members, so stick around and give it another shot.

Oh, and “maturity” is for suckers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Says you! Nyah, nyah, nyah!

To show your appreciation for our maturity you posted a link to that video?

Exactly.

Thanks for taking one for the team, I didn’t make 10 sec.

Okay, I finally became curious enough to watch the video. It seems that the jokes struck a jakeburg and sank without a trace. There were no survivors.

It’s no Pickle Surprise!
