Christopher Lee has died, aged 93.

Saruman has fallen. Dracula will rise no more. :frowning:

He passed away in hospital on Sunday apparently, family have now all been informed.

I’m bummed. But he led a very spectacular life.

Scaramanga has finally met his James Bond.

RIP, Christopher Lee.

Wow.

Sad.

Man, once you knew his life and backstory you’d figure nothing could kill him.

Father Time…still undefeated

Very sad news, although I suppose I knew that it had to come some time.

It’s hard to describe how I feel. It’s like a door to the past has finally been fully sealed closed. Lee was the last surviving link to an earlier era of horror films, to the kind of scary movie that I dearly love and that doesn’t get made much these days. I felt something similar when Vincent Price and Peter Cushing died, but Lee was truly the last. As someone said on another message board, “They’re all gone now.”

I am glad that Lee was able to have his late-in-life career revival, and that people who may not have known him from his Hammer Films days got a chance to see and appreciate his talents.

RIP

One of the more interesting factoids I ran across was that he knew exactly how Saruman should sound when getting stabbed in the back because he’d done that to more than one German as a commando during WWII.

A long and eventful life, and (from what I gather) a dignified exit. RIP.

Am I the only one who feels like he should carry around a wooden stake for the next few days? Rest In Peace, Mr. Lee. Please.

Crap. He was very old and this was to be expected, but nonetheless - CRAP.

I will always maintain that his best role was as Lord Summerisle in “The Wicker Man”.

Damn. Why do they have to die so young?

Lee, Price, Cushing and all of them are the true undead, and will live forever. Five hundred years from now, someone will be watching clips of their work.

(I am reminded of the young Japanese actor who played the villain in Black Rain. He was dying of a particularly ugly form of cancer, with months to live, and put himself through the grueling role because, “I can go home and die… or I can do this and be immortal.”)

RIP, Sir. He made over 300 films and wrote an enormously entertaining autobiography ‘Lord of Misrule’. What a life! We won’t ever see his like again.

:’(

He was my first and favorite Dracula. And sexy as all get-out!
Sigh…

Finally the heroes of the universe can rest east.

Or can they?

RIP, Sir Christopher. The world is a less interesting place today.

RIP :frowning:

What a life he had.

The first thing I thought of when I read the thread title is a very small part that he probably won’t be particularly remembered for:

Yeah, metal head rockers seem to crash and burn very early.
But seriously, RIP Sir Christopher Lee.

An amazing man and a talented actor who led an enviable life, bravely serving King and Country in the hour of maximum danger. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

I’ve seen that cover a gajillion times, and never noticed Christopher Lee (and James Coburn) were on it.

Thank you…ignorance has been fought today.

RIP Mr. Lee. You already played Death, so you know how it works.
