Chrome users: does Chrome properly display math/logic symbols? How's Java and Flash?

I’m doing a FAQ handout for students who will be taking an online symbolic logic course. I’m familiar with Firefox, Safari, and IE support for math and logic symbols, and have gotten feedback from students in semesters past who use Opera, older Netscape, and Mozilla browsers. I’m updating the handout for the new semester, and it dawned on me that I should add something on Chrome to the browser compatibility section, and I’m not at a computer where I can freely install new things.

So-- does Chrome handle math and logic symbols okay? If so, do any language packs need to be installed?

And, do Java and Flash play well with Chrome? Any problems with the launching of Java applets, or with imbedded Flash animations?

Flash, no issues. Java, no issues at least that I’ve noticed. Shockwave…issues. It can display, but generally has errors in it, and it doesn’t respond to keyboard input for me. Does fine in other browsers of course.

I’m not sure about math and logic symbols, I haven’t encountered a page using them yet.

I’ve not noted any issues with maths symbols - not that I’ve been looking for them, mind - but Wikipedia’s maths symbols seem to come up just fine. Java and Flash work just fine, don’t know about Shockwave.

This Wikipedia list covers most of the math symbols. The symbols from “therefore” (three dots) to “existential quantification” from that page in the HTML columns are the ones used in the course. (Only if you have the time and inclination to take a peek at the page, of course!)

Thanks for the info on the Shockwave problems-- we have links to HTML transcripts of the Shockwave material, so I can alert Chrome users to use them instead.
Simulpost-- thanks for the answers on the math symbols!
