Chrysler Crossfire: Love it or Hate it?

ha… that’s probably the same case with the magnum in DC… it was featured in a nelly video.

I test drove the Crossfire on a track. I can tell you, the reviews are correct. The thing looks like a sweet sports car but handles like a boat.

I also drove the 300 (both wagon and car). I personally like the wagon version (with the hemi). But don’t expect a tight ride. It’s basically a lowered Pacifica in terms of handling (I drove almost every vehicle Chrysler makes in one day at a special track day presented by Chrysler, the Viper is frickin’ awesome).

I don’t like the Crossfire. The ass end is too rounded; It should have just a bit of a rear deck, IMHO. The convertible version is better, but still too high at the back.

I want a Dodge Magnum.

I’d take a Magnum over a Crossfire any day.

There are a couple of Crossfires in my neighborhood. The car looks totally hot in the ads and on the showroom floor, but I was surprised to see that it looks kinda dumpy on the road. A case of too thin here, too plump there.

Next year they might tweak it a bit and hit the appearance sweet spot, but not yet.

I’ve never driven one, but I did sit in the neighbor’s car and the side/rear visibility is pitiful, worse than the older Vettes.

the 300 wagon? isn’t that just the dodge magnum??

Probably. It’s really a new 300m with a hatch so in my mind I call it the 300 wagon

Kinda like the Matrix is a hatch back Corolla.

that makes sense… thanks for clarifying.
regardless of what you call it, it’s still a hot car!

just saw a bunch of magnums in the new mannie fresh video…

just to help prove your point: http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/universalmotown/universal/mannie_fresh/video/00_realbig.asx

Crossfire? That is a bad name. Does it come with a couple guys arguing about politics in the back seat?

Wasn’t that what James Caan drove in The Godfather?

i snagged a ride home with one of my co-workers yesterday… and guess what car he had?? the dodge magnum! it has a really luxurious interior and a really smooth ride. i was pretty impressed.
still haven’t seen a lot of crossfires around here. come to think of it, i still haven’t seen one on the road. or if i did, it didn’t stand out (and you know what that means)

I have recently been buying Hot Wheel cars for the young son of a good friend. It was then that I realised the Crossfire is based on those squashed flat joke car designs in the hotwheel range.

the crossfire looks ok for an american car. i was moderately suprised when i first saw it. not bad, really. you could do worse. much better than that stupid 300 or the dodge magnum. those things are fucking hideous.

now, the new mustang is a different story. i think the last mustang model was a huge improvement over the designs from the last 25 years, but they really hit it out of the park on the new one.

but i still have a penchant for german design. i still love my 2001 jetta, and i lust over audis. bmws are getting a little zoomy for my tastes, though. i think they hit their peak a model or two ago.

i think we have exact opposite tastes…

don’t even know if i’ve seen a crossfire and i love the look of the 300 and magnum…

the only (recent) mustang model that i really liked was in '97…

i hate audis, and i love the new BMW models. the new 3 series (comes out next year) is really good looking… and i think the 6 series converitble is amazing.
