Chuck (03/09/2009): "Chuck vs the Lethal Weapon"

Big changes for Morgan, not a lot of change for Chuck. Poor Chuck is never going to get the girl, is he? Not least because he’ll never get the Intersect out of his head. Orion is just a tease. I think he made the right decision not to fake-shack up with Sarah, though. The constant tension would have been unbearable. They really need to give Chuck at least rudimentary weapons training - if only so he doesn’t hurt himself when he comes into contact with a gun.

That TRON poster has been in the background for many episodes. I didn’t expect it to suddenly come into prominence. It looks like Chuck has been making notes of everything.

I liked this episode. I really liked Cole. So far he’s the only one who doesn’t treat Chuck like a child nor was he an asshole to Chuck about the whole Sarah thing. Which is usually an over used cliche.

I really didn’t need to see Jeff without his shirt. Otherwise, I enjoyed the episode.

So, Chuck’s dad’s favorite movie is “TRON”, and he gave the poster to Chuck. And Chuck is using the back of the poster to organize his notes on the intersect. I have a feeling it’s all going to tie together when we eventually meet Mr. Bartowski. Maybe he’ll be played by Bruce Boxleitner!

I’d like to see more of the Morgannuptial.

Nope. Bruce Boxleitner is Awesome’s dad.

Though, that would be quite a twist.

Scott Bakula has been signed for 3 episodes to play Mr. Bartowski.

I’m glad the writers haven’t made Chuck and Sarah a real couple. Lose the sexual tension and the show will be Moonlightinged.

My only issue with the episode is the aforementioned Tron poster. It’s already been established that Casey has Chuck’s room bugged with both audio and video devices and that Chuck’s aware of that fact. How does he think laying the poster on his bed in the middle of the room disguises what he’s up to? Sure the video quality might not be good, but Casey’s got a raging case of paranoia and would immediately want to check out what was going on.

Ooh, Scott Bakula! Does anyone else think Chuck’s dad will be Orion?

My boyfriend has been staying with me for the past month and I told him he has to watch the NBC Monday night line up with me. A couple times he chose to take a shower during Chuck and missed most of it but for the past couple episodes he’s been glued to the set and laughing at the funny parts. I think I have him hooked.

Ellie and Awesome having the same dad would be so NOT awesome.

Reposting and expanding on my comment that was not a spoiler, but speculation.

Does anyone else think Orion is going to turn out to be Chuck’s dad? I think it would explain why Chuck would be susceptible to the Intersect programming if it’s based on his dad’s brain which would be similar to his own.

Isn’t Orion supposed to have invented the Intersect? That doesn’t necessarily mean that Orion’s brain would be susceptible to the flashing lights like Chuck.

They played the Puppini sisters on the soundtrack. Very cool.

Because, as I have explained in other threads, Chuck is a MORON? I have to accept this as a “given” or even…

Sorry, but some force pushes me away from it. Damn you, Ed! ] 'Cuz Chuck really is a moron.

I liked the episode up until the poster reveal at the end and my like turned into LOVE. I love pro-active Chuck! It made the part of Chuck we always knew was in there (smart, capable, determined) clearly visible. He’s not just a government pawn, to be protected and used - he is working on his own mission. Really took the show to the next level for me. Oh, and Adam Baldwin stopping to get a crab puff - CLASSIC.
