Chuck (11/15/10): "Chuck vs Fear of Death"

Chuck returns tonight, spy fans. For those who have been complaining that the show’s premise has been lost since Chuck started depending on the Intersect for all his powers, Mama Bartowski removed those powers right before running off with [del]007[/del] Velikov. What’s Chuck going to do now?

Fearful he’s lost his spy mojo, Chuck tackles a dangerous mission with the help of a crazed CIA psy-ops agent. At Buy More, Jeff and Lester try to unravel the mystery of Greta. Rob Riggle, Summer Glau and Richard Chamberlain guest star.

Awesome episode, I thought - Rob Riggle was great, tons of Sarah and Summer fan service, and Jeff/Lester at their creepy best.

The Subway product placement was unexpected and completely gratuitous. It was great!

I like how they cast these older actors who are still well-recognized but may have dropped out of the spotlight recently. Richard Chamberlain was nicely malevolent.

I hate episodes that end on cliff hangers.

I am increasingly convinced that Yvonne Strahovski must be the best sport in television - to our great good fortune.

Its not fear for himself that’s going to get the Interset back. I wish Greta was sticking around.

Summer left the show because she is going to appear in a new NBC series called The Cape.

Yes, that is what I was thinking, as well. It will most likely take Chuck seeing Sarah in grave danger to kick-start the Intersect now.

Uh, I thought the joke was that each time Greta appears, she’s a completely different person.

Summer and Yvonne. I was very conflicted.

For a series filled with her in various undergarments, this may have been my favorite set yet. Wow.

Yes, it’s a different Greta every week. The best one, of course, was the Old Spice Guy.

No kidding! I was debating in my mind which one was hotter as I watched the show, and each time the scene shifted to one or the other, I’d change my mind.

I miss Summer Glau on my television–I’ll watch *The Cape *and I hope it’s good, but I’ve learned to lower my expectations about new shows.

Ugh. I can’t believe they went to the trouble to get Summer Glau and then wasted her on effing product placement. And not just a little bit of it, either. I think there was more Subway advertising in that episode than in an actual Subway ad.
