Chuck 4/27

I’m nodding in agreement to this. After the awesomeness that was last week’s episode, I felt just the tiniest bit let down this week. (Not that I didn’t still love it.)

Also – nit-picky, I know – if the show doesn’t come back, “Guys, I think I know Kung Fu!” will surely not go down in history as one of the greatest final lines of a series. I was at least hoping for a quip along the lines of “huh - I guess my dad added a few new features!” before the blackout…

Well, the show has always been known for its shout-outs to other shows or movies. If you watched the last few moves of the Kung-Fu sequence, it was a (somewhat poorly done) replay of part of the pentultimate fight scene between Neo and Agent Smith in The Matrix. I recognized the flat-handed throat stab and the kick that sent the “agent” across the room.

Edit: As well as the “I know Kung Fu!” line

Most of the scenes with the Buy More don’t involve Chuck anyway, so I can see them keeping it without changing too much. They’ll probably bring Morgan back to it though, which isn’t a far stretch.

I was thinking along similar lines. He’ll get skills that are temporary and plot necesary. Also, I correctly predicted the that Chuck would use the “I know kung fu” line from the Matrix. With the new Super Intersect and Orion’s bracelet, Chuck would be a super spy next season if the show comes back(which I hope it does.)

I figured someone would have to learn about Chuck’s secret sooner or later and I was hoping it would be Morgan. It would give him something to be other than comic relief.

Also, they mentioned Awesome’s real full name. I can’t remember it. Anyone?

Point taken. I didn’t get the reference.

Still, not a real strong blackout line, IMO…

“I think I’m going to like this new Intersect!”
“Huh - That’s new.”
“Did I do that??”

I love Chuck, and I hope it comes back next year. I loved the scene where Casey is organizing the wedding and comments that a particular fabric doesn’t match the flowers (or whatever it was). Too funny. I think Casey is my favourite character on the show.

“Oh boy.”

The episode was great, and I agree that it wouldn’t be too bad as a series finale. But, please, don’t let it be that. NBC should expect lower ratings when they put it in a slot that carries some other network’s strongest shows (House, Dancing with the Stars, Big Bang Theory…)–If it was on at another time, this thing might take off.

They definitely need to define the new abilities in some way that leaves Chuck helpless occasionally. It just wouldn’t be very interesting if it was two badass agents working with Chuck, who is more badass in every way.

If they’re going to keep the kung-fu, Zach Levy needs to spend his summer in some classes. Even with Jackie Chan quick cuts, his fighting was not convincing. He should take some martial arts, or even ballet. (That’s what David Carradine studied for his role in Kung Fu.)

But there are few good timeslots. Tuesday through Thursday, Fox has American Idol, which steamrolls the competition. One problem with 8pm on Monday is that Big Bang Theory has a very similar demographic. But are there enough nerds to sustain a network program? On the other hand, most nerds are capable of recording one of these shows to watch later.

I saw a website that suggested fans of Chuck go to Subway restaurants, buy a sandwich and put a comment card in the box in support of the show. Given that Subway is a big advertiser, that might help.

On another thread about shows on the bubble, someone suggested that fans ought to watch the shows online or via the On Demand service of the cable company, as the number of viewers via these methods is easily tracked.

Think about it. Chuck’s last line was from the Matrix. So, if the show is renewed, he’s definitely going to lose some of his “badassery.”

Wow that was a great episode.

That was part of the fun for me. C’mon! Chuck’s a klutz! If they start fu-ing his klutziness much of what made us addicts will disappear.

Daughter, upon viewing the kitchen computer’s Desktop: "Why does it say “Jeffster?’”

Here’s Alan Sepinwall’s interview with Chris Fedak, who says:

Despite my reservations, I do think that Chuck gaining kung fu (and who knows what else) has great comic possibilities, a la Greatest American Hero.

As to the crucial question of renewal, it seems that they’re already mapping out the story arc for the next season, but nothing’s been decided yet.

And Adam is my favorite Baldwin. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there a wallpaper available?

An article about saving Chuck.

That was a great episode!

As soon as dad said “you’ve made dangerous changes to the Intersect programming” I thought, “wonder if Chuck is going to get more than data.” Yup! I agree it’ll be sporadic and faulty though, and I really don’t want to see much more of Chuck’s Spastic Nerd style of kung fu.

Casey had the greatest entrances as usual.

I could live without Buy More et. al, but what would they do with its time ration?

The original Mac as Intersect was cute.

Has anyone said, “damn you Bryce Larkin!” You had to go and die again.

Chuck is going to be so sore tomorrow.

Not that I know of. I just grabbed it from some t-shirt site.

However, this thread is #4 on Google when searching for Jeffster! wallpaper. NBC’s marketing department is asleep at the switch.

Sorry to be late to the party but I thought the episode was Chucking AWEsome.
Also, I hope they bring back Morgan. I love Morgan.
