Yesss. Worse still, there are indications that evil Bush the Younger was contemplating such a thing even earlier than that. The man was even so obvious as to make it one of the issues in his Presidential campaign. (cue oboe music here)
The fact that this article is from July, 2001, and the Islamic terrorists who didn’t do the attack as Islamic terrorists but did do it as CIA terrorists had already entered the U.S. long before that under the oh-so-stringent immigration rules already extant is apparently not relevant to this dangling participle.
Back off the bin Ladens/WAMY
Of course, there could be many other reasons why investigation was halted along these venues. The United Nations could have been behind it, or liberal Hollywood. Or, it is possible that such investigations were blown, and covering documentation was leaked to show that the investigations were halted. Or, perhaps, just perhaps, the investigations had run into dead ends and were no longer producing any valuable information. Nobody knows what happens behind the curtain, but that won’t prevent us from speculating.

Yes, it’s amazing how all the worlds’ multi-millionaires can be associated with one another. Perhaps it’s part of the vast conspiracy. After all, they have all the money, and when you have megabucks and want to make more megabucks, you don’t diversify your partnerships with other filthy rich people.

leighanimate, I too would like to know if you were just joking with your previous posts. I hate to not get a joke, but I couldn’t find anything in your posts hinting that they were tongue-in-cheek.
I know the SDMB has little tolerance for crackpot conspiracy theories, but I thought it was due to lack of evidence, not scorn for unpopular ideas. The purpose of the Straight Dope is, as I understand it, to fight ignorance, and I fail to see how merely making fun of leighanimate accomplishes this.
Although I claim to have a sense of humor, this is one instance in which I can find nothing to joke about. These are very serious issues to me. It took me a good long time to accept it myself, even as distrustful as I am in “the system”.
Then I found out about The Carlyle Group, and thought back to Iran-Contra, then I learned the extent of the relationship between the Bushes and the Bin Ladens, and the whole thing just stinks.
My dad sat me down in 1980, during the election, and lined me out on why we didn’t want a CIA man to be president.
None of this is funny, I’m not joking about anything.
In all honesty I hope I’m wrong. I hope the whole thing is just crazy-talk. But I’ve been watching the Bushes since I was a kid, and to me this all seems par for the course.
I have a serious question, since I can’t really successfully wade through all the stuff you’ve provided for us to read.
Why would they do it? What’s to be gained from killing that many American citizens, causing the economy to go on a roller coaster, that’s extended this far from the fact (the NYSE took a huge dive after that explosion in New York last week, people are on eggshells with their money)?
