Anyone familiar with the Bengals stadium regarding tailgating? Where is the best place? Is grilling allowed? What time should we get there for a 1pm game? Places to avoid? Tips?
Suggestion: try posting your question here. I’ve gotten good results there.
Do you have parking passes to a particular lot? People tailgate in all the lots around PBS. So if you do, you could just tailgate there. I used to tailgate in Lot D, but that’s gone now due to building construction. Longworth Hall is a good place to tailgate as it’s right off Mehring Way and its easy to get back to I-75 from there, but you do have to walk a bit to get to the stadium.
I am assuming you are from out of town. Are you staying downtown in a hotel or something? Are you renting a car?
If you are in a car, one of the best places to go IMO (and you avoid the obscene $25-30 parking prices) is the Hooter’s in Newport KY across the river. It’s $5 to park in their lot and they have a ferry (with a bar!) that carries you across the Ohio River to a landing near the stadium. The ferries run constantly so when the game is over and you need to get back across you just wait 10 or so minutes at the landing to cross back over.
Another good place to put this question is here: TAILGATE CENTRAL - GO-BENGALS.COM X WHO DEY X AFC CHAMPIONS!
There’s some really hardcore tailgaters in that crowd.
Come back to your thread, Ruby!
I’m back, I’m back!
I will check out the links posted and see what I can find out there. I’m not sure they are staying overnight. Someone told hub that Lots B and D are good. They want someplace they can walk easily to the stadium after the tailgate.
I will have to research how to get parking passes for particular lots. Also, what time do you have to arrive to get a good spot? I think it’s a 1pm game.
You need to get there around 10am. No later than 11, especially if you are parking in a non-Bengals owned lot. But if you buy a parking pass for one of the “sanctioned” lots, I’m pretty sure it guarantees you a spot in that lot. The other lots that are on the fringe of the stadium area aren’t owned by the team and are first come first serve, IIRC.
